So now we just have to hope it comes to Australia.

Focus ST wasn't bad compared to it's competitors, 35k starting was quite good.
It did lack features available in the Euro cars but otherwise good car.

I'm assuming you mean the Focus RS.

I like it, shame the new Focus ST is only coming in 5 door.

I hope the 130kW 1.6 Ecoboost isn't the end of the subject. I was hoping for closer to 150kW as had been mentioned before.

The Focus ST gets the 184kW engine, up from the 177kW in other applications (Including the Coon). So hopefully the Fiesta ST get's a bit of an extra tickle for release.

0-100 in under 7 seconds and it gets the Focus' torque vectoring system. Very nice.

Does anyone know if the whole Fiesta range will be updated in 2013 hence the wait?

GoAuto reporting that an Auto or DSG is very likely as well, and that whether we get a 3 door like Europe, or 5 door as is rumoured for the US, is still open for debate.

Definately needs a DSG, for it to compete with the Polo GTi. Having it manual only limits its potential sales.

It should be a cracker.

Looks fabulous; if it handles even better than the standard Fiesta then Ford is onto a winner. Can't wait to see it in Australia. This is definitely one of the cars which I will consider once I'm free of the shackles of P plates.

As a manual only driver, I quite like the idea of purchasing a car that is only available with a manual transmission. However, it's not a big deal to me, and is unlikely to affect my purchasing decision if an automatic is available. I just hope that Ford don't stuff it up completely (like VW did) and only import this car with an auto, though that seems unlikely.

^^^ Why would an automatic model influence your decision considering it will be available with manual either way?

Default New Fiesta ST

http://www.carsales.com.au/news/2012...iesta-st-29137

What do we think guys? I think the styling, particularly the front is a bit polarising. Sometimes I look at it and I like it, then other times I look at and I think it looks a bit weird. Kind of like there's something wrong with its top lip. The interior though looks quite modern and functional, and the seats look fantastic.

The specs look really good, and hopefully there's an auto/DSG version.

Pricing will also be interesting. I'd think it'll need to be competetive at least with Polo GTi which retails for $27,790 for the 2 door.

I really hope there's a 5 door version too.

I'm the same as you, except no matter how many times I look at it, I think the front is weird. Same as the Focus ST. Just can't warm to the front styling. I love the euro's, my last 3 have been, but if this is the way the styling is going, my Mondeo will definatley be my last euro.
