Default Rego Question

Hey guys....quick one, in QLD, how long can a car be unregistered before you have to get a RWC to re-register....

Heard some conflicting things....6 weeks, 3 months, etc etc...

you have at least one month, and up to a month after that from what i have been told by dept of trans. after the first month it comes down to when they process it apparently and 6 weeks is about the cut off, its very hard to get a straight answer out of them. But i won't leave it any longer than a month these days just in case.

Off to get a RWC I go then....

This is what happens when you lose all interest in cars whatsoever, chuck a cover on your car and let it sit there untouched for 3 months. =S

If you read your rego renewal notice it tells you on the front page.

30days

He did say he'd lost interest in the car, at least he put a cover on the thing.
In the past he's parked it at high speed in the Cane. LOL.

“Actually it was just call “Gull”, because I named it that. Because we knew it was going to poo on everything”.

They do send you a final notice prior to the registration being cancelled. The other half's Cortina was unregistered from July through September, about months, we paid the rego on the final notice they sent us, and they sent the rego sticker...and that was this year...
