I would hope to get close to 220rwkw just with an exhaust, like a few other T3 guys are getting, actually their getting over 220 but thay are not autos.

What intake mods would you do ?

The more KW's the better & no one will try harder to get them than us.I like to estimate on the low side,it's always nice to give some one a nice suprise when they pick their car up rather than high expectations, could make 230+.We'd love to be given the job to extract max power from the best of the windsors.I have soft spot for them having owned a 13 sec EB 5.0 a few years back.Theres more life left in them than people think. In the states they kick ИИИИ in the drag racing scene.

I'd recommend our G&D air box intake kit as used on Woosha's AU XR8

bring it on..

heres a scary thought (for non AU owners anyhow).. this time next year there will be quite a few G&D sterioded I6 and V8 Au's floating about tormenting the hell out of BA's, Commy's, ricers and anything else on the road.

Going to get to a point where the G&D sticker on the rear window will be like tha rattle on a rattlesnake.. "take me on at your own peril"

What an awesome time to own an AU!

I cant wait to have a G&D Performance sticker on my car, no one will race me then :( my exhaust scares em off as it is!!! lol
Atleast after Glenn is finished with it (finished? haha) it will have a bigger bite than its bark..
at the moment it barks big, but bites like a puppy.

Casper, what you mean tormenting, dont you mean leaving in cloud of tyre smoke :P

oh they already make the most wicked intake you can get.. but its not a "bling" one as much as ultimate fuctional.

Of course, chrome the whole thing (of modicote it) and then add a pretty chrome intake pipe and it would look STUNNING!! "BLING BLING BLING"

It's been very interesting reading through this thread.

I've noticed a move away from JMM towards G&D over the last little while. Will someone explain this please!

easy.. G&D are better. Better service, better pricing, better ideas, better.

I'm known for going after as much power as I can.. G&D are going to be the leaders for AU I6 and V8 in that field. All you have to do is talk to them and you can see it. Therefore I'm going where the power and service are. They have made a committment to the AU owners on here to be the best, I am holding them to that committment and so far they have backed it up 100%

Give me a few more weeks and you will see some REALLY interesting stuff from them

Fair enough answer but the comment about better service is interesting. I got the general feel that people were happy with the service from JMM. If that's correct, then it's high praise for G&D!

Then again, there were lots of people not being able to get it quite right, and the need to keep playing around with things. I guess that's got to be a right pain in the rear when you've spent good sums of money in the first place!

In any case, I'm glad there are many giving them a go, helping them to refine and develop their gear. All Au owners then get the benefit.

Casper, is there a mod to be soon revealed? LOL!

I wasnt. I know quite a number who, like me, found they way they were treated to be very poor. Never had a problem with the JMM products themselves, just they way people were dealt with.

Customer service is probably G&D's strongest point..priducts for the AU are pretty damn flash too.
Being treated well and respected is worth gold in the car mod game. Absolute Gold.

Yup. Too many "almosts" and "close enoughs" in the past. Being told you have 150rwkw and finding out you have 135rwkw.. then being blamed for doing something to cause it. Not on.
Go read Fordmods one day.. there are some horror stories on that site that are explained ingraphic detail.

Thats exactly right. Support those who support the AU falcon and this forum I say. G&D have said they want to be specialist in the AU, I'm certainly going to be taking them up on that.. and I know they are excited abou the whole thing. Excited enough to design a number of billet VCT cams... no one else has got that!

What would be required to fit a VCT cam to a non-VCT engine? And is it worth it, or just go the non-VCT cam and tune?

given that the VCT engine was totally and utterly ignored for about 7 years... yes, I am excited. PR or not, who gives a crap. I finally have found someone who is not only willing to do VCT cams but has gone ahead and actually done them..

So yes, I am over the moon and, give it a while, I'll be out showing exactly what the VCT engine is capable of. Then all those who laughed, scoffed and called it an old mans XR6 can feel free to put it down anytime they like.. while I laugh at them in my rear vision mirror.

Its about time isn't it.

before GND you had to diable the VCT and run a wicked cam with no bottom end like the rest of us SOHC falcon owners.

The difficulty will be the SOHC VCT doesn't give a great deal of control with it advancing the cam 10 odd degrees between 1200-3800rpm as it advances inlet and exhaust obviously so not sure that the VCT cams will be dyno day winners for N/A SOHC sixes. Should be better on the street and strip though.

VCT will never be a dyno killer.. but I dont mind. Lets face it, dyno numbers will always be disputed anyhow.. but an ET is unquestionable.

I've seen what G&D did to Hamo's Forte.. I want to beat that!
My biggest problem now is I've got a good idea what they are going to do to Stiddy's car too.. and thats going to be an animal! :evilsasmo

I don't want to be left out of the loop. I don't want my AU being overshadowed by the Cylinder defficient AU crew. I want edit, full exhaust, 3.9s, CAI. I think that will keep most 6 cylinders honest. A 13 second bolt on AU1 XR8? Then wait till I cam her! MWahahaha. Okay back to reality... *Cobra looks in the piggy bank with a sad face*

*Sigh* One day you guys will be able to tinker with my car. Till then, make the AU owners proud. Top job G&D!

all this talk of VCT cams and development is giving me phat.

When these VCT cams are realeased , will they be something only GnD can install due to the VCT system or will any old worksop be able to bang one in?

They are already out there mate.. drop Glenn a PM and he can fill you in. They are billet also so none of the "shim" nightmares.

As far as I know there are also a number of different VCT designs so we dont jut get "1 or nothing", we get a choice of cam.
