Exactly right. If you freeze the post count it will still tell you when the person joined anyway and if you need to know if they are active for whatever reason all you have to do is click on their name to get their profile up.. At least that way there may be less garbage to read on here!

Big post counts unfortunately doesn't mean intelligent conversation..
It brings a tear to my eye. Someone values my contributions to threads.

As far as im concerned, the post count doesnt matter. Its typically very easy to decide whether to take advice or use what someone has posted just by what they say, how they say it, and what kind of person they are (which is determined by the quality of their posts etc).

What i would like to see however is a clamp down on just downright stupid posts. Without wanting to turn this into a fight (ill edit if need be), one member sticks out in particular for their constant whoring - just posting for the sake of it, and their postcount reflects this (so does their admitted lack of automotive knowledge).

Ill admit i spend a lot of time on here, and in comparison with some members i post a fair bit more, but i always try to make sure what im posting is relevant and worth reading (someone tell me if its not). :

umm...excuse me but im not totally automotively illiterate ok.

i admit that i dont know everything and most things i know relate to escorts since thats pretty much all i know, which is why i dont reall post in the other tech threads, most of my "useless" posts are kept to the bar as im lead to believe that is the place to go to post non automotive comments.

When i do have something to post in an automotive thread i do post there and i keep it too the point and i rarely ever whore or waste space in them cause i know people are there to find out info etc, not to goof around.

so if i am the person back2thefutura is implying then im a little insulted to say the least.

im sorry if i feel like this place is my online home where i feel like i can come and have a laugh or two with other ford members in the approproate forums. but if you look, most of the "whoring" i do isnt in the serious side of the forum, its where all the "useless" "non automotive" "uninformative" crap goes.

so i would think about what you say b4 you go and make accusations. if im not the person back2thefutura is implying then disregard it.

as for you BA GT-HO, im hardly surprised that your the one to jump at the chance to say it was me. youve had something in for me the moment this forum started, youve hoped that i had never made the treck over here all because of teh way i posted, which is fair enough i suppose. but i did change and ive taken a bit more care in what way ive written my posts but it seems that you still got a grudge against me or something, so if you do please just come out and say it.

if you had actually read my post i was asking back2the futura who he was talking about, so why did you feel the need to stick your nose into someone elses business????

im actually regretting starting this thread, i asked a simple little question which couldve been answered with a simple little question by one of the admin team, which one of them has kindly done. but no, everyone ahs to come in here and start a whole post whoring flame war and a discussion about whether post counts should be taken off.

i dont care about my post count. i just asked cause it seemed like a glitch in the program or whatnot. if the admin had made it so the posts didnt count in the bar then so be it, i dont care, it hasnt stopped me from posting in the abr has it??? i havent gone into the falcon section, or the state sections and started whoring now have i?????

if i woke up tomorrow and found the post count deleted i would ask why for sure, just as alot of people in here would, and im sure the admin would give their answers, and i would leave it at that. its not like i would leave the forums over such a trivial thing as that. but it seems that a small few of you seem to think that im child-minded enough to do it.

im just sorry that this thread has come to this. it just goes to show how quickly people in here are to flame someone over a simple question.

dont worry man, i know who he is talking about, and he has no effect of me. In reality b2tf, all of YOUR post in this thread is useless.. funny your not being flamed for hijacking a thread though...your post has nothing to do with the first question in this thread now does it?

say what you want mate, your petty comments do not phase me. Funny how you mention im automotively illiterate.....how would that affect me posting in the photoshop forums, and the show n shine section. i think you will find EXTREMELY few posts in the tech sections, which is the only place what you have said about me would come into account.

now off you go, go take a look at the members list, i think you'll find i'm not at the top of it. nor do i give a shit about some post count. You on the other hand seem to be first off the mark to post telling people how useless their posts are, making yours just as, if not more, useless than what your having a go at.

EFFalcon, i take offense to your stupid post in relation to me. I think it should be deleted.

Why isnt he being flamed?

Simple, reputation procedes people.

............................

post counts, bah, leave em take 'em away, really they mean SFA. Over time people get to know who is reputable and knowledgble with regards to certain sections. A whole lot over nothing, this post really shoulnd have come up at all, appart from allerting mods/admin to a code problem the innitiation of this thread was pointless.

This is going no where fast.... how hard is it to respect others rights, even if you dont agree with them

Time for some to have a look at the Terms and Conditions of the site again
