Random piece of weirdness...

Ok, this is as random as it gets but I found it.. surprising in an odd sort of way.

As a keen History channel watcher I often see shows that contain the "same old" historical advisor's. Of these the one that is probably most prolific is a guy called Aryeh Nusbacher from some place called The Sandhurst Foundation.
Now being bored and after seeing him on yet another show I decieded to look him up on Google to see where this Sandhurst Foundation actually was.
For the record its in England and he taught both Prince Willy and Harry. Big deal but at least it turns out to be a legit place.

Then I found this:

A TOP male lecturer at Sandhurst who taught Princes William and Harry has won his own war — to be a woman.

Officer Cadets returned to the elite military academy for a new term yesterday to find pipe-smoking Dr Aryeh Nusbacher is now Lynette.

Dr Nusbacher, 40 — already tagged “Mrs Gunfire” — is believed to have had the sex change op in the past few weeks.

On top of giving her the title of Ma’am, cadets have been ordered to treat her with full respect.

Sandhurst’s Commandant, Major General Peter Pearson, has warned that any jokes or snide remarks by pupils or staff will be severely punished.

The US-born professor, married with a young daughter, is still living with wife Melanie and family in nearby Guildford, Surrey.

A friend of Lynette’s said: “She’s a very brave girl.

“A stiff upper lip military environment such as Sandhurst is about the hardest place to come out.”

As well as teaching at Sandhurst the professor is known to viewers of the BBC2 war game show Time Commanders and History Channel documentaries.

Her wife said yesterday: “She does not wish to talk to you about a private matter.”

Note: Although the Sun is not the most reliable in the world further googling seemed to confirm this to be true.

Casper funny you should bring this up, I googled Aryeh just the other day while watching the Top Tens of submarines, when Wikipedie had a Lynette listed.. I thought his wife must of been a buff too until I read the speil and the birthdates and education matched.. I must admitt I didn't think of a "chopadickoffme' , I just thought some one had hacked the Wiki site..

I thought hacker too.. but I kept searching and its pretty certain its real. Be interesting to see the new shows and if he/she is still on there. Some of his one liners were a classic.

(Oh, and the top 10 show is great... but so US biased its not funny. At least they gave the Jerry's #1 sub. Usually its a given for a US item to win. Like the Helicopters.. US 1,2,3.)

Ask yourself this though. Who has the bigger balls? The person in the public spotlight who goes through a sexchange, or those who sit behind their keyboard and make snide remarks?
Personally I really don't care about this, but if it makes him/her happy then good on them.

I have no intention of making snide remarks. I do find it surprising though. I've watched this guy for years and have always found his commentary a plus for all the shows he's on. He also has a good sense of humor.
I personally hope she continues on.. but I will find it odd to watch.

He is definately one of the most informative guys on those shows, I guess the upside of the sex change is we will now know if we are watching old episodes :P

You'd be better off saving your money! Apart from the occasional gem, most of the stuff shown on Foxtel is rubbish. IMHO, the History channel is proably one of the better channels.
