Default LS Focus Mods

Hey guys. As i mentioned in one of the other threads. i've been modifing my ls zetec. Now I have a couple of questions. first of all my car is an auto (yeah I know only girls drive auto's lol) and I need to know how much horsepower it can handle before I break it. I.e. After installing the turbo we are looking at about 350hp at the flywheel.

Also I've got my mate from www.ppmracing.com installing new brakes on the car. we will be putting on 6 piston calipers with 385 or 355 in rotors on the front. not sure what we are gonna do about teh back as it seems the hand brake is built into the caliper. Anyway we needs to know how big the master brake cylinder is?

Where are you buying your turbo from? Because there is a company in Melbourne that sells and installs them, as well as an exhaust system and dyno tune. I got a quote from them today for $8300 including all of that...

Dandenong South VIC 3175 Australia
Phone: +61.438800507

i don't know the full details. (ie i dont have much technical understanding) but i believe it includes an engien rebuild ie: new conrods, pistons, valves, valve springs etc. also includes exhaust, intercooler, ecu, blow off valve. yeah anyway hes doing it for $11000.

www.talonstyling.com.au used to do one. Not sure if they still do. They don't seem to have it listed on the website. There's a member on here that has one of their kits (Skriblz06). Search for him. There's some pictures of his kit lying around here somewhere.

Keep us posted on the turbo install. I'm very interested in this whole thing.

Thanks for the link. not much on the site through. I'll give them a call.

yeah i'll keep ya up to date with the turbo no probs. I probably won't be actually getting it installed until next year. (got some large expenditures to sort through first). But i still do really need to know how much power the transmission will take before i go ahead with it....is there someone out there who can help me???

maybe you could just call a transmission re builder and see if thay could give you some kind of figure...i think u might get away with the gearbox for a while but i dont think it will last that long with that amount of power your lookin at makeing

just got my car back yesturday. The brakes and coilovers are finally on. I'll post some pics up as soon as i've got some.

Question through. Due to the way the handbrake is set up I've had to remove it altogether to fit the calipers on the rear wheels. Do all focus models have the same handbrake setup particually the turbo?

You could fit it. but you would be looking at alot of money to change alot of parts to match mate. sorry to say. then you would have to change the gear ratios because the gearbox is setup for a turbo application :(

LOL...... first of all when i purchased my car I couldn't afford an xr5 so i had to settle with a Zetec. since then you might say I have fallen in love with it and wouldn't trade it in for anything.

second of all if i had a xr5 i still would be doing the same mods so it would not cost any less. sure the xr5 already has a turbo but i'd be getting new titanium conrods, pistons and such to boost the hp output.

besides when i'm done my car will blow an xr5 away..hehehehehe

I'll post up the pics of new spoiler as soon as i get them reduced. (some of the nsw boys have already seen it) anyway i've spied a kit on "Eurpopean parts". however the sideskirts are intended for a 3 door car. Do you think it is possible to cut (or get cut)the skirts to fit?
