The car began its life as an 880,000km automatic ex taxi S1/2 Hybrid, Dual Fuel forte

$400 - Headers
$350 - High Flow Cat
$290 - Cat Back Exhaust
$90 - Chrome Tip
$2000 - VCT xr6 engine upgrade
$1000 - Manual Conversion (cheap package price)
$600 - Aftermarket Gas processor + install (xr6 ecu wouldnt run the tickford setup)
$400 - Bucket Seats
$300 - Reaphulstry vinyls and materials
$500 - Mags
$200 - Lowered Springs
$200 - LCD Screen
$300 - DVD/CD Player
$80 - TV Reciever
$1200 - PDA/GPS Navigator
$1100 - Customised Carputer/mouse/keyboard/wireless internet setup
$40 - integrated iPod Dock
$80 - cheap amp
$100 - XR Dash Cluster
$40 - Checkerplate floor mats
$150 - Rear Altezzas
$250 - Front Altezas
$180 - Bonnet Bulge
$1320 - TS50 Kit
$180 - Sunroof
$250 - Paint + a Carton of Beer
-----------------
= $11,600 in additions
-----------------

Then it got stolen + crashed so I spent $2355 on a donor Car + $50 odd bucks on bog
-----------------
= $2405 for repairs
-----------------

The Car itself cost $2999 to begin with
I found $400 under the carpet + back seats so deduct that
I sold the original motor for $300 so deduct that
I sold variouse other bits that were replaced in the conversion + lights + seats etc for a combined total of around $250

----------------------
=$950 total deductions

All up total cost comes to
--------------------
$16,054 Total

And to show for it the car is still in the repair process after the theft!

But it aint over yet, still plenty more dollars to be spent, and I'd do it all again (as should you all)!

Car: 1999 Series 1 Forte (Ex police and other owners) $7250 inc. new rotors and pads
Servicing $900 Roadworthy, Std. exhaust cat back, Brake fluid change, new steering rack and boots done at mechanics, misc. minor stuff.
New oil and filter, done by me $50.
Total: $8250.

And a resolution not to take it to a mechanics again - the steering boots are twisted and split and they were only replaced 3 months ago.

In total I've spent about $8000. That includes RACV test before I got it, purchase price, reg and stamp duty, change of number plates (personalised), and full service and tune when I got it.

Wow, that would make a grown man cry - unless for your additional $25K, you got an absolute monster.

Also, this is the AU section, so either you're the first BA owner to really appreciate that a BA is just an AU IV, or you're new (Yes, I see the 11 post total)!
