Default LCD Cluster AU Futura bulb blown

Just bought a 2001 ford au futura classic sedan yesterday from a car yard. last night driving home i had lights illuminationg the speedo, fuel, tem and rev gauge but the LCD readout that tells you the odometer reading, DTE etc was not illuminated. is this a blown bulb behind the LCD readout panel on the cluster. if so how easy is to remove the cluster to replace bulb.

have upgraded from a XF to an AU. sop its all gettin tricky for me.

if someone also has a pic to show me the lcd display lit at night i would be happy to see it.

theres 2 globes for the LCD. sounds like they are both blown.
take it back and get them to fix it.
or you could do it yourself.

Yes, you can fix it yourself by popping out the cluster housing.
I definetely recommend lowering your steering column first,as you won't be able to pull the housing out enough to get at the rear of it without the sharp edges cutting up your vinyl on the dash edge!

To do this you have to gently pop off the 2 screw caps on the underside of the top of housing, then firmly but carefully pull the housing out.I got mine out by pulling towards me and wiggling up and down a little at the same time.
The globes are 2watts.
My 98 AU Futura LCD display is orange, I don't know if 2001 model is the same.
The most important piece of info I miss when the bulbs go,is the Distance To Empty meter.(they still actually work-you can see if you get your face close enough! They just aren't lit up)Seeing as bought from a yard, you could let them do it-they'd only need the car for an hour tops.

Mine have gone for a second time,so I might take some pics as I go,and post up later.
Good luck!

You should be able to take it back to the dealer and get them to fix it. all second hand cars bought from a dealer (not private) come with a warranty (i think it is 3 months??).

That's true for the statutory warranty, but only if it's less than 10 years old (which it will be) AND it's done under 160,000km. Otherwise, no warranty at all is given.
