Red face Computer chip help...

Hi,

I am looking into putting a chip in my EL V8.

I want it with 2 maps, (one that I can switch on or off kinda thing)

I dont know much about them, but I know I want one he he!!

Can anyone tell me anything about these? Any tips? How much would I be lookin at spendin?

Don't bother with a chip until you've done everything you want to do to the engine and driveline. The idea behind a chip is to optimally tune your engine, rather than simply add KWs (even though an optimal tune tends to add some KWs).

For example, if you get a chip now, and then change your cam futher down the track, your chip wouldn't be doing its job anymore as the cam profile will not suit the chip's tuning specs. And then you'd need to get a new chip to suit.
