I thought a thread on what you love and hate as we power into the technological age would be interesting.
LOVE: High speed cable internet connections, opens the world to you from your living room HATE: Everyone using EFTPOS in the 12 items or less turbo lanes of the supermarket, the transaction is slower than if you have 20 items and cash.

Love: Internet.
 : Hate: automated phone systems - "press number 1 to talk to someone who doesn't give a damn, press number 2 to talk to someone who wants to put you on hold for 45 mins, press number 3 if you wish to be accidetally cut off......." And then the huge waiting time with the end result that they usually can't help me.  :

hate losing a new car key (mirco chip)and having to wait 6 weeks for a new one

Yes, love the internet, wouldn't have met my boy otherwise.
 : Hate the fact that people can't do the simplest things, because the "system" won't do it. (Took 3 days to transfer custom number plates from my fathers name, to my name, and the standard plates in my name to his, because the computer didn't understand what it was they wanted to do.)

Love: USB making the connection of peripheral Plug'n'Play and probably putting people like me out of a job.
Hate: Palm Pilots/PDA/Personal organisers, These are $1000 replacements for the spiral notepad complete with 3hr battery life. These gadgets are the weapon of choice of middle aged execs desperately trying to impress people around them who may just have a clue. Take any business meeting add 2 PDAs and you can add 40 minutes of fart around time. Yeah I was impressed! |

HATE: 2) Plasma TVs - I dont get the fascination of a $10000 tv when a $1000 projector shows a ten times larger image.

like: high speed internet, used cars are way cheap.
dislike: when you get used to high speed internet and it seems slow. petrol that cost a fortune. peoples general attitude towards others these days |

Love netbanking. So much convenient and easier to look after your funds with netbanking. Guess I should mention the net as well as without it we wouldnt have netbanking now would we.

Like: Everything becomming intergrated. Hometheatre, computer sterio system, fridge, car, security system etc. Also just the fact we are right on the edge of what is percieved to be the begining of the futuristic world, a multitude of technical revolutions.
Hate: Decrease of personal liberties, rediculous new laws designed to protect people from their own stupidity, big brother and most of all society and repect for others going down the pooper.
