RPM Limiter.

Hi guys
Is there anything i can install that would stop people like mechanics, panel beaters, idiots to not thrash your vehicle. I am so worried since i saw a young lube mobile mechanic joy ride my car without doing his job. I now do all repairs but want to trust local mechanics . I dread a wheel alignment since they have to take your car.

Any help. How do you protect your prized asset

That's a great, a very general answer. It's actually the obvious. Now lets take that small thought of a line and move away from the obvious and perhaps you can chime into say, fleet trackers or electronic devices to attach, other security measures that can effectively help protect your car even from say theft.

There used to RPM limiters ( Mechanical ) to attach at the bottom of the pedal. Really looking for those " proactive " recommendations despite the cost involved. You did very well in your approach but lets stay on track and really use that thinking cap once in a while yes? Re read the question. Good work

Just tell them its unregistered. I caught out a trans bloke who slipped up when he said my car was road tested. I told him it was unregoed (it was out by a month) and he foolishly admitted he drove my car home last night.
The only possibly usefull thing i can think of is maybe get a flash tuner (im making the assumption the car is efi) and get 2 tunes loaded. 1 for normal and 1 more of a valet mode with the limiter lowered to say 4k. That wont stop idiots being idiots, but it may restrict how dumb some people are capable of being.

Most people are fairly nice to me over the counter - otherwise they pay ****ers tax and their jobs suddenly take longer

At work we do have the same tax policy, the work doesnt take any longer, however some invoices for bad clients incur a call out fee that good clients dont cop.

You can get a valet tune. Problem is if you have manufacturers warranty this would void it as the ECM/pcm has been tampered with.

Thank you. Very informative. it's an idea to talk to my tuner and see if he can place 2 maps on the profile to possibly for me to switch over with the hand held controller.

There is no manufacturers warranty. I have opted for extended warranty with a private insurance company but that only covers major items. I'm looking into the 2 x tune profiles for the valet parking as it seems practical.

Yes that's why your still over the counter and doing domestic deals instead of international. unless your chiming into the topic / Query perhaps your venture would be to stay on the counter and make some sales as that's what your skill set seems to be.
