It's called lane centering. It's standard and you do actually have to switch it on. There's a button on the steering wheel for it. I'm not a fan of it.

I can confirm that I also do not have lane centering on my car - hopefully that gets added in after the service. There's also a few rattles in the handles of the rear doors which become louder when going around a corner. I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced this issue and is there an easy fix? |

Ford have just updated their website brochure with the 20.25 model, Active Park Assist 2 is finally standard on the Titanium, just as it was on the LW and LZ. Can’t spot any other major changed, a new colour called Blue Panther and they deleted the Orange Glow colour.

Blue Panther has been available from the start. But only for ST-Line and Active. I can't spot any other differences. Disappointing to see that Driver Assist pack is still an option for all models other than Titanium. It's one of the best things I had my Active fitted with; it should be standard.

I think there is a further difference in the Titanium mode. According to the image on the Ford website, the chrome strip that ran along the top of the door sill now only runs along the bottom of the door sill.

Great they have added Active Park Assist 2 to the Titanium, but like you said a shame Drivers Assist didn't become standard on lower models. Quote:
Have been following the updates very closely, and there has been some minor cost cutting since the MY19.75 update, the removal of the rear key-less entry to the back doors, the soft touch back doors in the Titanium have been replaced with the hard plastic of lesser models. In the UK they've pretty much dropped the IRS in most models bar the 2.0L diesel and ST model so I have read.

As for Driver Assist being not being standard by now across all models, it's a bit of a surprise, as it was a topic of discussion with my salesman who thought that by years end, it would be standard. You have to ask what the logic is, for what should be regarded as a very important set of safety features, being offered up only as an option. I have to concede that at the time, I didn't think Driver assist Package was necessary, but I decided to opt for it and now I'm glad I did. Last edited by CatonaPC©; 18-12-2019 at 06:40 PM. |

Just flicking through one of the German Focus sites (with translate on of course!) and Blue Panther was added for the 20.25 Model Year. Metallic Blue and Desert Island have been available since day one however. They also list some changes like the removal of the SYNC lettering from the dash (you can option a CD player now in Europe) and no headlight washers on ST-Line models with LED headlamps (was never on Titanium).
Not sure which boffin comes up with all this, interesting none the less.

Why does the product page have a Sync by Microsoft logo?
I'm 100% sure these cars come with Sync3 not 2. BlackBerry makes Sync3.

A.K.A. as the Focus Mk IV? LR, LS, LT, LV and now the S.A. are all local nomenclatures, yes?

Anybody pick up on Kay Hart (MD Ford Au) saying Ford Au might drop (cease importing)the Focus.
So they dropped the sedan. Dropped the diesel. Dropped the base model. Dropped the sedan. Dropped the manual. Slammed the price up. And sales are low. |

As for dropping the Focus, I would think Ford might not want to put all its eggs into the SUV basket like it has in the US. It only takes a fuel price spike, and SUV sales will plummet. |

Indeed. In its first year, it's good to see there's few of them around already. Other cars, like the Civic, it took a year before I actually start to see one on the road.

Puma small SUV coming later this year.
Focus sales are woeful 200 odd a month. If Puma takes buyers away from Focus I guess it’s the end. I m pretty sour there is no manual. My Lz is due for replacement soon and the SA would be ideal. However no manual so looks like a manual golf would be best option or the Koreans with the 1.6 turbo manual Elantra/I 30. |

I've been checking my oil every few weeks and over the past few months I've noticed the dipstick level decreasing every few weeks.
I checked it this morning and it was down to the last hole on the dipstick - always checked when cold. Took the car to the selling dealership and was advised that this is normal consumption for this engine. The oil capacity is 4L and the dipstick shows 1 Litre, so if the dipstick is way at the bottom, signifies there is still 3L of oil remaining. I was told to expect that by every service in future the dipstick should be down to the lower level - normal consumption of oil for this engine. Gotta love Euro engines.... |

Maybe at risk of going the road of zb Commodore.
Kay Hart is reviewing its place in the Australian market. Golf sold nearly 1200 in February. Both built in Germany. In many ways perhaps Focus is the better car. But few are buying. |

Sad but probably true. We have had an LW, LZ and now SA. The LW is now owned by another family member and still going quite well. We currently have the LZ and SA and both of these are very good cars and hope the continue to keep going well. Our cars are leased for 3 years and we then buy them out but am now thinking there will not be another Focus after the SA as I can't see Ford continuing with the Focus. So in 2.5 years time we probably will be looking for the next lease car. Hoping maybe electric car by then. |

The introduction of Puma will put further pressure on Focus.
Is the LW a manual? Although my wife’s 2012 Fiesta is with powershift auto had ceramic clutches put in 2 years ago and is great. My Lz will be up to 145000 kms this year. I m thinking a near new 6 speed manual Golf is the only affordable manual drivers car out there and some of the 1.6 turbo Huyundai. I drove an Sa as a loan car while back nice car but I’m a better driver with a manual box. I think electric cars will be a good 6 years plus before they are affordable. |
