Default AUI Falcon

Hello to all!
I would first just like to say hello to all you falcon enthusiasts out there!
I recently bought my first car, an au falcon series 1. Although, yes it is an ex-taxi. I have decided to show people that it is still as sweet a ride as it was first day off. So I have decided to fully cusomize the car. The first thing I bought was a pair of 18" ROH Mags, and a sound system that consists of :

Pioneer Deck
Dual Us-Audio Bezerk 10" Subs
3way 3x9 Sony Xplod Rears
Sony 6" Xplod front
And a Soundstorm monoblock amplifier (Force Edition)

However, I have a couple of questions (Will come soon) but my first one is. In the front doors for the AU falcon, is the speakers there just normal 6" ?

My brother tells me they are 6x9's in the front also, and now I fear I have gotten the wrong product. I asked the guy and Strathfield Car Radio, and he says they are normal 6". But I would rather get the pro's opinion, so could someone please tell me.

front speakers are in fact the same size as the rears....that size is 5x7 inch, not 6x9 or 6 inch...there are quite a few people on here who have put 6" ones into the front, they have written how to's on it aswell

They are 5x7s but I managed to squeeze 6x9s in there, just have to be really careful not to scratch the window with them. You would be better off sticking with the 6" though

If you already bought the 6" you just need to cut an MDF spacer to mount them up to the origional holes

Thanks alot guys. I went back to strathfield car radio and told him. He said that 4x6's should go in and he gave me a pair. If they dont fit this time im gonna teach him a good lesson.

Do you guys reckon 4x6 will fit?

it depends on how wide the mounting holes on the speaker basket are, if they are the same width apart as 5x7's they will, if not they will still be too small

What model are the Pioneer 5x7's, Ive only ever been able to find 6" or 6x9's. The only 5x7's Ive found are made by Alpine.

Yep, thats the idea. When you have some pics, start a thread in the workshop builds section, that way you can document your progress with the car.

Ok guys, Here I am with another situation!

My amp will not turn on. I was driving and it just turned off. I checked the wiring with a tester. From the battery to the fuse, there is power. However, after the fuse, nothing! I looked at the fuse and visually, it doesn't seem blown.

I also checked at the end of the fuse while power was going through, on one side there is power, and none on the otherside!

Cheer people!

Autobarn Cranbourne Know As Much about cars , as i know about Nuclear Physics , Nothing ,

They would recommend Papercones to take your Cash ,

Orions are ok , but either the JVC 5x7's or the USAudio 5x7's are teh way to go ,

The Pioneers are great , Crystal Clear Treble and that really Nice Bass Note , but if i had the Extra $200 , I would of bought the JVC's as there preTuned and Cooked to 7.1 Surround , So if you have a DVD incar , there the dogs Bollocks !

Cheers
Daniel
