I'd like to wish everyone in the aufalcon brotherhood (and sisterhood) a safe and happy Christmas and a fantastic new year.

On another not, aufalcon.com got an early Christmas present this year itself. Details are not finalized but there will be some news in the new year that I think everyone will be happy with. Sorry for the "wait and see" post but I'm pretty excited with it and I think everyone else will be too.

to all those who have to travel, short or long distance, be safe and take care, its not your own stupidity which may put u at risk, its everybody elses as well.

I will be embarking on a 4h journey soon, so i better get ready now.

To everyone who is lucky enough to be with their loved ones, family and freinds around them, have a very merry christmas, value the time u have with them and enkoy it, remember that not all of us can be that lucky :(

I would also like to take the opportunity to wish everyone a safe and happy start into the new year, embrace it with all the best wishes, be safe and take every opportunity that may present to you during the coming year, as you may never know where your journey may take you.

This will be my last post for this year, and I shall see everyone of you again next year!!!

Regards
Mic

Posted this in the DM section of the site, but thought some of my AU brethren who aren't DMs may be interested:

Firstly, Happy New Year to all.

For me, 2007 has to be better than the way 2006 ended. I spent 2 hours in casualty getting treatment for burns to my left arm, right hand and face - the result of a leaking gas bottle (minor leak) at a mates BBQ. The bottle was in a cupboard in his BBQ area so the leaking gas had nowhere to go and when it caught, it got me!

I'm OK now, but won't be able to use my arms properly for a few weeks, and will be having community nurses coming to my house daily to change the dressings.

So no working on anything much for the next few weeks - the boss is cheering!!!

Geez, no wonder i had trouble deciphering your sms. Sure hope your burns heal quickly. I know your new years resolution was to quick smoking, but I thought you meant cigarettes.

My goodness JC, thankfully you weren't badly hurt. I guess that mate of yours feels like a horse's butt!

It goes to show that when dealing with petrol, gas, electricity and all the types of things us blokes like to tinker with, sometimes things go wrong. Not too wrong in this case though. I am very glad all the gas didn't end up exploding in your face!

With regards to Bucky's comment, I guess you are wearing camo pants! LOL!

Glad you will be ok mate, and it hasn't kept you off the computer at all!

Hoping and praying that your recovery is a full one and that your enforced rest (you'll probably do some mods or something anyway! LOL!) will have some positive benefits for you. You know the saying "every cloud has a silver lining"?

Rest up mate, and lets hope that's this is the very worst you will face this year and beyond!

GK

BTW what's a DM? LOL!

My bourbon remained intact, and the snags and steak were still good when I ate them some 3 hours later. Here's a couple of pics of the worst of it (hope no-one's squeamish).

Nasty indeed!

Funny thing, when Sourbastard mentioned you possibly spilling beer, the first thing I thought of was that you were probably drinking bourbon! LOL!

BTW, my wife bakes a magnificent bourbon flavoured leg ham!

Not in a gas powered BBQ I hope. LOL.

Actually, as bad is this is (the photos don't really show how big the burns are - they basically go 3/4 way around my arm, but the skin is intact, even though it's black/grey/dead); it could have been worse, so I'm pretty thankful actually, and funnily enough, pretty lucky - bad luck is still luck! :-).

I'm trying to get to the motor registry over the next couple of days and finish off some repairs, so will you be fit enough to go for a spin??

Should be. Might be worth ringing first - I have a specialists appointment tomorrow to see if I need grafts etc (doubtful) so will know more after that.
