Hey guys,
just got my new BF GT 6spd auto bionic with stripes and thought it would be a good idea to join fordforums. Big thanks to the guys at Klosters (Newcastle) who gave me a great price and were very professional. I can highly recommend them. A bit about my history. My previous cars have been a 2005 WRX WRP10 (1 year), 1999 WRX (5 years), EB XR8 (2-3 years). I was born into a Ford family with Dad owning 1976 (78?) Ford Marquis 5.8L. Any who, I've always loved Fords & V8s. Why the WRXs? Well I drove my mates and had to have one. Great fun to drive! Now I'm older the STI suspension was wearing thin, everyday to work and I've always had that love of V8s. Nothing will ever sound better than 8 cylinders arranged in the V configuration. Now I find myself driving a BF GT. The more I drive it the better it gets! Look forward to sharing my time with guys who like fast Fords. |

Hi Kraziman,
Similiar story here, sold a WRX MY99 and bought a BFGT. The GT is worth every cent. What options did you get? Any Pics? Last edited by GTPete; 06-05-2006 at 07:47 PM. |

I actually went out to buy a manual one but ended up test driving an auto because that's what they had. I lost many a nights sleep trying to make up my mind. Some of my mates said I should have tracked down a manual just to give it a try (I didn't). I really enjoyed not have to change gears (5 years a go I would have had someone hit me for saying that). I drive 5 days a week to work. 30-35min drive consisting of half city, half open road. The thing that pushed me over the edge (probably the biggest factor) was how MOTOR magazine gave the gear box a big wrap. Both the GT and F6 they last tested around the track were autos. I then decided on auto. Before I got it I wondered if I made the right decision. Now I've had the car a couple of weeks I'm dead certain the auto was the right choice for me. What a great box
Yesterday I pulled up to the lights along side what looked to be a pretty new clubsport R8 manual (it had a 285 badge on it). I very lightly loaded up the tranny with my left foot on the brake. GREEN - left foot off, right foot flat and let traction control do it's thing. I used the manual mode because I didn't want to go over 5500rpm (running in). Well I instantly jumped 1 car ahead. I pulled 2nd then backed off (it was a 60zone). He stopped at the next set of lights along side of me a said "I wasn't ready mate". When that light went green the exact same thing occured except this time when I looked in the rear view mirror I say a whole of tire smoke from him. I would never have got the old 4spd auto but this new 6spd has me driving an auto at the age of 27!!!! Some might call me an old man but I love my 6spd auto. On a differnt subject I'll try to get to a meeting some time. Won't be for a while because I am very busy with work. |

welcome too the forum mate . beut looking gt there . nice colour . interesting . the typhoon was developed to take some business off potential wrx buyers. looks like the GT does it too. mines a ba 6sp manual .
i had the same circumstance as you with an ss ute. but i had the traction control off and i was the one left at the lights smoking. nice to hear the reverse has happened. i think that colour is now my favourite over black . it looks great on the typhoon as well. i'm sure you'll end up on here a lot like the rest of us. plenty of things to find out and share aboiut your gt . cheers. |

I am thinking of fitting a John Bowe induction system to my BF GT. Has anyone fitted one of these to their BF GT? I am very happy with my car so I am thinking carefully before I mess with it. I'm keen for other peoples opinion.

I had set out with the intention of buying a manual, but as far as I'm concerned it was no contest ... the ZF is just the best. |
