Viva isnt a wagon is it? I thought it was a Convertible sorta thing.

I doubt it - not much call for wagons like that. Lancer Wagon, Astra Wagon etc.

Viva is available as a sedan, hatch and wagon. The new convertible is called the Tigra BTW. Viva is the Daewoo sourced vehicle- supposed to be based on the old Lacetti IIRC, but looks nothing like it.

With people downsizing vehicles due to fuel costs small wagons could become very popular. _2:

If Holden can justify having two small wagons, surely Ford should have at least one?!

Quote:
Key features include:

1.8 litre DOHC engine (89kW)
Driver, front passenger and front side impact airbags
Air conditioning
Power steering
15” wheels

It's got the 2.0 Tdci engine with the following extra's:

- Parking sensor's

yep I agree the new Estate looks the goods in the UK...when I was over there I also saw a few on the road along with a heap of the LS Hatch.

We are updating the Wife's car soonish, if Ford committed to the Estate I would delay the purchase, alternate I think we will end up with the Astra or Lancer Wagon/Estate....

I don't see Holden being too successful with having two small wagons.

The euro LR Wagon, looks way better than the Yankee one.... Even though it is a ST170 Estate... Thats what we need, a Focus ST Estate... to create a whole new catagory - Compact Sports Wagon ;) Oh, and to compete against the V50

It's very interesting to read people rubbishing the Korean made cars (ie. Holden Viva); and then in another thread read about the dope smoking workers in South Africa's Ford factory making the Focus in between drags.... And then in yet another thread, horror stories about problems with the new Focus! :hihi:

I'd still rather be driving a South African car than a Korean car anyday, even if my SA made car only worked one day a week, it would be better than a Korean car that went about its miserable life every day trundling along with the inspiration of driving a washing machine. I can say this as a previous Korean car owner....

That ST wagon looks hot! While a wagon would do me, I'd take just about any turbo diesel Focus to be honest... it coulde tow my Escorts!

:monkes:

Some people require a reliable car for transport- in fact I'd say that would be most people- and they can't afford to have an expensive new car that's always in getting repaired.... Each to their own.

You're right - noone wants a car that's always off the road. Our BA XR6 spent four month off the road before we sold it! Worst car we have ever owned.

And you're also right that cars are just a means of transport to some people.

However, I don't think all SA cars are off the road all the time, I was exagerating to emphasise how much driving dynamics of a vehicle and overall feel matter to me. I have had some great cars (like my Mondeo and Focus) and had some terrible terrible ones.
