Default Dealer Special Editions

This may have been done before - but its the first time i've seen them...

This is from Macarthur Ford Campbelltown NSW...

I reckon it looks great... rims, decals, etc...

Are there any other dealer special editions out there???
(not just current FG) but others that may have not been heard of...

Obviously there were the old HORN CARS... (McLeod Ford of Rockdale, NSW)... See:http://www.aus-ford-uk.co.uk/html/spoilers_-_horn_cars.html

Anyways, interested to see what anyone can find...

THere were a few dealer spec BA and AUs around in NSW
Just before the BA SR came out ther was a "Sydney sports special" which was pretty well the SR without the different seat cloth. Was promoted bya few dealers. (I know coz i bought one)
there was also a "S" model based on forte and XT which was a options + badge pack.

And who ca forget the "peter warren horn cars" of the 70s

I saw the thread title and was going to come in and say that Macarthur Ford have been doing these for a while on the FG range.

I drive past them all the time and some of the are downright Hot. Brand new XRs with Tinted taillights from a dealer is something you dont see too often. They almost always have different wheels, most of the black cars have black 19s.
And on the boot its usually MF6 or something like that.

Not too bad, they usually have a few extras for little cost, I think you can go in and add your own bits aswell.
I have a picture on my phone of the back of one but its from a distance while I was waiting at the lights.
Some other dealers do similar things aswell. I would imagine that Macarthur Ford being part of Peter Warren, similar things could be had at Liverpool and Narellen.

Not my cup of tea, but at least its original. Does the grey go over the bonnet, or just stop at the top of the guard?

Sinclair Ford in Katoomba used to do a 'special' in the mid 80's. Generally they were lowered, chrome, 12 slots and tinted windows and usually in black.

I guess they have to try and do something to lift XR8 sales, I am not sure if that's the correct solution... although I am sure it will appeal to some.
Question is, does it say I really want to buy that car..

loftie what price do they have on those XR8's?

Im all for dealer "Specials" but im not up for Sticker Packs or XT's with HO Badges..

If they were smart they would get a FG XR6T throw some slotted front rotors, flashy wheels, springs, shocks & bushes under it and sell it in the GS Price Bracket, call it R Spec or Performance pack if they like.

I liked during the BA Era there was a NSW dealer doing a few performance specials on new XR's & FPV's with "Cobra" editions from memory.

years ago at ford in cairns i seen an "ESP" edition AU that had xr body kit, wheels, exhaust, esp embriodery and it was a different colour to what the au's were offered with.

lad at work in townsville bought a "GTR" commode thinking it was a special thing but now hes realised its just a white omega with a body kit.

Stripes are OK, but I really think the car needs some balls to back it all up.

To me those stripe package's need a bit of refinement before they would look any good.

The poxy XR6-P has to go, what's wrong with just XR6? The vertical stripe is too wide, and the door gap interferes with the look.

I think that the concept of down and across, works with the shape of the car though.

It will be interesting to see what FPV have in stall for us in the coming months, lets hope we get some decent visual stuff along with the new donks.

They look crap. I did see on carsales the other night a dealer has 4 x Super Pursuit utes with quad exhaust tips and a redesigned rear lower bumper which had plate in middle. Looked alright. The cheap and tacky stickers and under sized after market wheels on cars which really need to be lowered in the thread pic are hideous.

THAT is how all FPV utes should come from the factory!
