Default best suiting shockers

hi all, i have a 1990 ea wagon with a bent strut on the right hand front.
Looking to replace the front shocks, what are the best suiting?

monroe or pedders?

want a smooth ride and good handling as the misses also drives it with the kids.

Pedders Comfort Gas would be my choice.

Is it an easy do-it-yourself job?

It's not too difficult if you know what goes where.

Unbolt wheel, upper control arm from body, lower control arm from k-frame, stab bar from LCA, strut from LCA, then the 3 bolts in the engine bay holding the strut in. You don't need spring compressors while the strut is in the car. You'll need them when you fit the springs onto the new shockers though.

yeah, hate to sound like a mizer, but spring compressors and that are dangerous as. i have seen one shoot through a garage door once. funny, but bad at the same time...
