Default Stevens Serious About Funny Cars

Willowbank Raceway at Ipswich is gearing up for one of the biggest match races of the year in Australian Drag Racing when it hosts it's Funny Car Extravaganza featuring both Alcohol and Nitro Funny Cars on February 4.

Facing off will be Brett Stevens, Steve Reed and Mark Brew in the Top Alcohol cars joined by Rod Bailey and Ricky Monserrat in the Nitro machines, with all of the vehicles being able to power down the quarter
mile in 5 seconds at over 400 kph.

Stevens, the Caboolture Shire Sportsperson of the Year for 2006, is looking forward to the event with not only the chance to lay down some solid passes in his Kitten Car Care Products Funny Car, but also to really turn it up and put a show on for the fans without the pressures
of Championship racing.

"We have been running some really quick passes in the last few months and this will be a great opportunity to try a few more new things and
see if we can go even faster," Stevens said.

"It is also going to be great for the crowd to see some of the countries best Funny Cars going head to head in this unique 'grudge match' style
of racing".

"Steve (Reed) and Mark (Brew) have been around the Top Alcohol bracket longer than I have and have also been running really well lately."

"But we have run the quickest pass in an Alcohol Funny Car ever in
Australia which we did in December."

"None of us like to lose so you can be sure that no one will be giving
an inch, it will be edge of the seat racing."

As well as featuring in the Top Alcohol Funny Car match racing, Stevens will also be testing his 2004 Australian Championship winning Jack Daniel's Top Doorslammer at the event as a lead up to the next round of
the National series in Sydney later in the month.

With brand new cars currently on the build and close to completion, the team is also keen to try some of their latest developments in his current vehicle before implementing them in the new 3000 horsepower
Falcons, to be unveiled later in the year.
