Default Focus noise

We have had our Focus Diesel Sport for a few months now and have only recently noticed a noise. About 20 seconds after turning the engine off we hear a rythmic noise that sounds a bit like someone taking about 6 steps on gravel. Any ideas what this is? It only lasts a few seconds then goes quiet. Thanks in advance.

Its a standard focus noise! I suspect it may be the electric power steering but mine has always done it as well.

Not certain but I think it might be a valve for fuel tank pressure relief There are numerous sounds and noises on new model cars some sound sinister but most are quite normal

It doesn't really sound sinister but it's quite noticeable. It's probably normal but we have only just noticed it.

If in doubt have the dealer check it when you get the chance, just for peace of mind
