For me it was time to buy a V8 and went looking for around a year only to find to find busted Sh**tas or tough cars that had a few small issues to sort out.
its hard to find a well looked after V8 anything for sale, people seem to hang on to those ones for obvious reasons (They're awesome)
after taking a trip to Melbourne i looked around for an XR8 sedan and ended up taking the 2nd car i looked at and it was a S3 XR8 ute manual
thought of keeping it for a while and selling but after the trip home to townsville I've never looked back. 4 Years and still LOVE IT

Originally i wanted a V8 statesman. Then the parents bought a Territory privately (they have always been ford)

And i bought the AU I Classic off them with low K's and a price you couldn't argue with.
and now.. Wouldn't even consider buying another colour (True Blue)

IMO the BA's are boring.. they are just a car, where the AU has style of sorts.
My next car i'm looking at getting is an AU XR6 with low K's and keep it as much of a weekender as possible.

With a few things and a couple of $$ the AU's can look a million bucks.
