Default Adelaide meet up ?

Are there any Adelaide members on here that would be interested in a meet and greet similar to what the Melbourne members are doing?

absolutely. I'm currently in idaho, USA but want to get the old beast overhauled and back on the roads of SA by the end of this year. Will be returning in early september

there is a big weekly classic and muscle car scene here in idaho and being surrounded by beautiful cars is the inspiration I needed. poor old XR has sat in the workshop for a year

I posted this in the meetings events section as well. my67xr told me there were some members that meet up for the all Ford cruises, i think he is refering to AFF members. There is a Victor cruise on the 1st of August that might be worth looking at.
It would be good if we could organise an AU meet up still, maybe we could organise it at that cruise.

OK, so if theres a few of us that are keen how about we start throwing around some ideas as to times, dates locations etc. What do you guys think?

I'll be going on the Victor all Ford cruise to have a look so if anyone else is going it may be a good place to start. I see from your post on the thread that you cant make it blueoval so is there other times that would be better?

wait until the weather improves. Anytime from october is fine for me
I need to do a run to mildura to break out the cobwebs in my car but that might be a bit too far of a drive for some.

would like to do a big run through all the hills of greater adelaide.
stopping off at a bakery is compulsary along the way.

Yeah probably not a bad idea judging by the weather we've been having lately.

So would sometime in October suit everyone?

I reckon a bakery run is the way to go. I know of some killer ones down south. If we could get a few good suggestions for up north too, we could make it an awesome day.

There's always a standing meet between a few friends (including a couple off here) each Wednesday night at Harbourtown. Usually from about 8pm, sometimes 8:30, until whenever we get bored and go home which varies depending on weather and how many people are coming. Last night was about 10:30 I think I left.

Not really a cruise as such, just a bit of a catch up with a few laughs and a beverage from McDonalds (please note I did not say "Quality Beverage").

If any of you guys from Adelaide want to pop by and say hello you're more than welcome. Look & listen for the loud ranga with either the red AU or gold LTD.

As for organised cruises and meet ups that involve a bit more of a drive, definitely absolutely keen for that kind of thing, but don't know how I'll go at attending, I typically work 1 weekend on, 1 weekend off, and just as luck wants to be an absolute bugger to me, everything I even want to consider attending seems to be on weekends I'm rostered on. Plus I don't tend to get my roster for the next month until the last week or two of the current month (current roster goes to July 25th, haven't got anything past that yet) so it makes it kind of hard to commit until I've seen that. Yes, my social life is going down the toilet for work, but I'm enjoying having cash and not having time to spend it because I'm working so much.

Cheers for that Shav

Ok so how does an organised meet up/ cruise on a sunday sound. Maybe a bit of a hills run to a bakery somewhere, give us some idea on how far you guys want to travel etc and I can start looking at where we can meet up and what route we can take. Also start throwing in some dates that might suit as many as possible. October 10th sound good?

By then the Monty will have wheels and lowered maybe even a brake kit

October sound good to me. Better weather then too.

Suggestion for cruise route:
Start up north, head towards Barossa Valley, stop at Lyndoch bakery, cruise thru chain of ponds, head back south thru Gumeracha etc, cut thru to Clarendon and stop at Bakery there, then head towards Willunga, and then towards Aldinga and finish up at Christies Beach Esplanade.

It will take the best part of a day, but should be a top day and people can come and go as they please.

crdave - I'll PM you a route I think will work well

Looking at the calendar and working on the weekend on/weekend off roster type I have, I am probably working that weekend but hard to tell.

Anyways, when its organised I'll know a couple of weeks before whether or not I'll be able to make it

its something that just has to be done. no ifs no buts
plan is to get back home and just work work work and put as much as I can into the car so that I can register it again and use daily during the warmer months
