Hi to all you mad ford nutz out there and thanks for letting me onto this ford forum. I have a question in regards to my xc ute custom I'm building and I was wondering if there is a engine bay loom v8 or 6 cyl that has a 2 pin plug with the main 12v yellow and black wires as I have bought a gxl engine bayloom but it has a 6 pin plug the same size as the ignition plug with 2 12v yellow and some other wires. The ute is a factory 6 cyl manual xc ute and help would much appreciated

Hey there every one,

Jesse's the name and Fords are my game ;) I work at an Autobarn store down in south gippsland and I drive a EF Futura, its lowered and has a drift pod filter, sound system consists of two Pioneer 12"s, 1100watt 5 Channel USA audio amp, clarion 3-ways and a Pioneer head unit.

I'll edit this tomorrow some time when I can take a couple of pictures, plans for my EF (in the next couple of weeks) are to fit HM headers (after having them HPC coated), 2 1/2" center muffler & 3" straight through tail pipe (to be bent up in our workshop) then much much more to come.

I look forward to getting to know all of you and your cars better.

-Jesse.

How is it everyone? I actually joined up yesterday and have been slowly going through the different sections and have now stumbled to this section that I should have used first...oops.
Anyhow its been a few years since owning a ford but I've always had a soft spot for them and I like your website, very interesting.
Anyhow, I own an 1988 HSV SS Group A (#001, first HSV ever) and a new VZ SS ute but thought I'd pop in and find out some info from your well informed members and share any info I may have. Hope to chat to you's later anyhow.
Carl.

I have a tonne of questions about performance and costs but first just wanted to know your recommendations on where to get my car serviced? Its out of warranty now so still at a Ford dealer or somewhere else that does a good honest job without burning a hole in my pockey?
Thanks heaps...
No doubt ive probably posted in the wrong section of the site (sorry brand new to this) so just let me know if im doing it all wrong...

G-Day everyone,
So I've owned Fords, Holdens, Chryslers and Audi's and always found it difficult to find E85 fuel including my fellow car enthusiasts.

So I took the time to make a group on Facebook E85 Locations Australia, which you can get to via my page http://www.facebook.com/E85FillerAustralia
Look for a join group tag then answer some simple questions and you're in.

The members are proactive about letting me know when new location are found and locations that have stopped supplying E85.

Our page is where people sell, buy and trouble shoot any problems related to E85 or how to turn your whip i to an E85 fire breather.

Share this thread around to all that need fueling location right across Australia.

Question Re: Welcome to New Members - Post here to say gday!

Hi All,

I have just registered and not sure where to enquire for the following.
Back in 1974 my Dad became the owner of a XB GT 351 coupe purchased from Duhig Ford in Essendon Victoria.
It was the best being picked up from school in the beast.
It was red with a black half-roof vinyl and sun roof.
The original rego was ,and I am not sure of the number but started with RD-??? which was 'Ray Duhig' who bought it for himself but the story from Dad was it had no power steering and he put it back on the showroom floor.
Dad had always been a customer of the then Airline Motors in Essendon,XM Falcon,XR,Xw and then the GT from Duhigs.
Dad passed away in 1985 and Mum was left the the GT.
It was a bit much for her to drive so my brother and I decided to sell it as we did not have the money to purchase it ourselves.
If only we had known!!
It was sold to a father and son and they took it immediately as it was original in every way.At that time Mum lived in Sunbury,Vic.
The last rego it had was ICC-082.
Would not know the VIN.
My question is to all is how would I trace the vehicle to where it might be today and possibly reacquaint.

Default G6E T. 245 - 35 /19 snow chain information

Hi
I purchased a fantastic [colour Vanish], G6E Turbo with 19 inch rims in March and I am looking for advice on where to buy snow chains and also information on any problems with having 19 inch rims and contact with any body work. Tyres are 245/35 / 19.

I have just covered 7K since purchase and I am amazed by the power especially when passing other cars, a real safety issue.

I am very happy with the computer that tells you how many litres of fuel you should refill with.
At one Caltex garage in Griffith the pump said I needed 10 more litres than the Ford computer said I needed [I am following that up with the NRMA] also I was averaging 10.1 after filling with it until I filled up with Shell at Goulburn after which I was getting 8.1 litres per 100k. Driving style was the same -sitting on 5 k over the stated limit and roads were similar, ling clear straights. All other fills were within 1 litre of what the computer said [ there was another Caltex in Balranald that said I needed two litres more than the computer said]
I suspect that some are giving you 95 instead of the 98 I was paying for.

Anyway as history goes I have always been interested in cars [we also have a rare auto 242GT Volvo [1979] in pristine condition]. My fist car was a Bug eyed Austin Sprite , replaced by a MGB and had lots of use of dad's 356 B Porsche for many years. Motor bikes and a series of VW's later I had a 144 Volvo, then the 242 GT.

Hi there - I have just purchased a 2003 BA XT falcon sedan 135k. Manufactured Dec 2003, was a display vehicle and was sold to a single owner in June 2004. Since I purchased have installed an external trans cooler. The forums are certainly informative and I look forward to any help should I need it in the future .

Default G'day Guys and Gals

Hi Everyone,

I just come across the site and it looks like a site I would enjoy and may be able to add too.

I have a XY GT Clone running a warm 351C, Toploader and 9" diff. I have it off the road at the moment while I rewire her and perform a few other mods.

I look forward to getting to know you.

Gday. Brand new to forums, v8's, computers, everything really. Have joined this as will hopefully be picking up later this week a 2 door landau. It's been sitting in a shed next to an xa coupe for years and years and appears to have minimal rust. interior is good to very good. I've not heard it run yet but not terribly worried if it doesn't. The vinyl roof is part torn off exposing a bit of rust, 6'' x 3" hole, where ford welded window panel in. Could anyone tell me where to look re rust and any suggestions at all before I commit to buy? Thanks for any advice. cheers. PS Do I put in a email address on these threads ? Sorry if dumb question but as I say, not that savvy when it comes to computers. Cheers

Default Hi guys & girls

Hi, my name is Pete and I thought I'd join the party. I've been Ford through and through all my life and my current ride is a 1977 XC Falcon Ute 302 Cleveland. You don't see many of them where I live so it's great to have something different for everyone to see - I get tired of looking at old Holden Utes!!). I hope to give out some tips and get some feedback as well.

Cheers

Afternoon from Perth. Thought I’d say G’day, joined here last week when one of my NL Concorde power windows decided it had enough of this world. Anyways thought I’d let you know i found out (after a days running around) there was a non genuine window regulator available for the E series…a lot cheaper and most importantly far superior design than that installed in the factory....I’m certain it will outlast the original by many years…now I’m a member no doubt I’ll be enjoying the ride (and the forum too..!!)
Cheers
