Default architect, civil drafties, builders on here?

Time has come for a new shed, and i thought i'd tackle it myself. The size (6x15m) and money constraints pretty much rule out a prefab shed or paying someone to do it all for me.

Now wanting to make it all legit, I need to submit plans to the council. Not a huge problem, i have done a bit of structural steel design before, and have drawn most of what i want up on cad.

but I am a bit stuck on slab, foundation, and footing depths. I guess what im after is a idea of what thickness a slab should be, what base under it, what depth the reo is set, and so on. If anyone can help out here, i would appreciate it. even better if someone has something drawn up that i can follow?

all depends on the soil test results, have they been done?

Im a 3rd year Construction Management Student at Uni, I knw A bit about whats going on.

In order to submit a design to the council for a shed of this type, the full and correct plans need to be submitted.

Soil tests need to be done in order to find which footings will be needed and how reactive the soil is (That is, How soft is it and how deep will you have to dig to reach solid ground) You will most likely will be able to get away with the raft slab but It all depends on the soil and tree root systems surrounding the proposed area, as a significant tree root system will dry out the ground and resaturate it causing changes in soil strenth depending on the time of year and therefore the structure will need extra reinforcement and maybe a different footing system.

You will need someone in the know to come and determnine what class the soil is, and the size and type of footings before council approval. I'd love to help but I dont quite know enough to determine fully what you will need for the structure to comform with the Aussie building regs.
