G day
A mate of mine has a festiva with an off center steering wheel, when the wheels are straight, the steering wheel is slightly turned to the right. Can anyone tell me how to get the wheel straight, how do you adjust the wheel to make it centered? Cheers

There are a couple of ways, however the best way is to get a wheel alignment done. It'll probably be over due anyways, so it can't hurt.
The other 2 ways is, firstly, removing it and re-centring it or the 2nd way is centring it via the rack. Doing that involves turning the rack ends into the tierod to the right and out of the tierod on the left the same amount.

A wheel alignment fixes everything, when it comes to front end issues. This includes any little noises. Please read the manual carefully, as the these manufacturers spent millions of dollars making sure it is perfect.....Now why are there so many problems with my car, when I follow the instructions to the letter?....Answer, majority rules round here Lock me up and throw away the key because I'm a hoon....I got caught doing 59 in a 60 zone |

yeah ive heard about adjusting the tie rods, in this case making the driver side rod longer? I think it would be easier to reseat the steering wheel.
anyone know how to go about removing the wheel? We're gunna tackle it on wednesday anyway but id be nice to have an idea where to start.. unless its not that hard of a job which i imagine it wouldent be? Specially being an older car.

That wont fix anything, the steering wheel doesn't just move off centre, it's an alignment concern which needs to be done properly.

Centring by the tierod is actually shortening the right hand side and lengthing the passengers side.
However I'd really suggest getting an alignment done. If anything, it'll give you peace of mind that you're not going to be wearing tyres
