Default K&N Filter for New Focus

Anyone know if these are being stocked anywhere yet? Wouldn't mind getting a panel filter for the Sport..

Default Re: K&N Filter for New Focus

Why?

I know all the sales blurb, have used them years ago for street and strip and used to swear by them. For horsepower they are great, for engine longevity - not so sure.

On a drag car, I found that after a few hard runs the filter became too porous; could see daylight through tiny holes. Re-oiling could not close up all the tiny holes.

Now I'd rather lose the 0.5% power then lose filter protection. I always use original, and change it regularly.

I think you'll find it has a cone(or, really, cylindrical) shaped filter.

Save your money. If you do the standard tuning (inlet, headers, exhaust, dyno tune) than a less restrictive filter would be part of the package. But I'd recommend a high flow foam filter rather than a K&N.
