Default FPV BOSS & FTE Windsor, deja vu?

FTE released the T series with windsor engines initially 200kw and 220kw in the T1, then a few minor mods on the way with 220kw on all models in the T2 then went out with a big bang installing the 250kw T3 before the new engine was deployed.

FPV released the BA with the BOSS initially 290kw then a few minor mods (blue engine) in the BF and later 302kw then finally went out with a big bang installing a 315kw in the FG before the new engine is deployed.

I wonder if it was planned

I would have expected the FG to bee a 351kw since they were using power figures (and engine sizes) of the old days.
Maybe the 351 is saved for the next engine or a special release like the Cobra was.

just seems like power evolution to me..

the 302 to 315kw 'big bang' wasn't nearly as substantial as the 220 to 250kw in the T series, especially since the displacement was changed in the T3 as well

It is just pointing out that nothing seemed to change very much in either series until the last model. The T1, T2, BA & BF were all pretty much similar to each other and then as what may be called a "last hurrah" There was a fairly reasonable increase in performance.

Yes I agree that the difference between the T3 and its predecessors is far greater than the difference between the FG and its predecessors but the BOSS upgrade is still fairly significant. From what I have read here and elsewhere the 315 performs fairly well.

Yes it is evolution but as opposed to the other team it is not as linear.

e.g. 215,250, 255, 260, 285,297,307,317,325 as opposed to 200,220,250, 290,290,290,290,302,315.

Just an observation, that is all.

Yes the T3 was the 'last hurrah' for the venerable Windsor V8 ( A very good one i might add) and the AU i guess.
Slightly different tangent the FG is still in production so i guess the Coyote will be the last hurrah for the FG but the 315kw BOSS was the last hurrah for the BOSS V8. IMO the slight if any power increases for the FPV have been better then the every month increases at Clayton. Good thread, i see where your coming from if others dont.

The 290 shoulda have been what the 315 was!!

The FG V8 has nothing on the T3 V8 in terms of soul aswell.

comprehension isn't a strong point of many people.

the windsor ended its time on a high with the 250kw stroker being a fantastic engine.

the boss is also ending on a high with the 315kw version clearly a much better engine than where the boss started.

the T3 was probably more of a 'last hurrah' given that it was also the bowing out of 'tickford'. maybe if FPV ever get superseded their last engine will be a statement also.

don't hold your breath waiting though.
