Default EB S vs. ED XR6...Help

G'day all,

Well, the EL Ghia i was going to buy was sold the moment i arranged a deposit, so im back to square 1.

I have found two cars thats im quite keen on. An EB S Pack and an ED XR6. The EB is a manual, which is my preference, and the ED is an Auto. Now, what do you think would be the best decision, and please justify your reason.

Both are in great condition, the only two clashes are, EB is a manual, but its in brissie, and the ED is here in townsville, but its a Auto. I am leaning to the ED so information regarding the automatic geatbox would be handy too.

The EB is cheaper, but by the time i go down to brissie and drive it home, it will cost about the same, so money does not really come into account.

Cheers, Jake.

My only reasons so far as to leaning toward the Ed is:

Tickford Engine
Less complicated
ABS
Looks

Go the ED.. Newer car and its a XR6.. Also resale value on a XR6 will be higher than a 's' pac..

How many Km's???

Manual conversion is easy and will cost less than $600 usually..

Cheers,
Nik

If it's an EB1 get the ED.
What are the k's on both cars?

From the information you've given I'd go the XR6.
They hold value better and you can convert it to a manual down the track.

I'm unsure what is faster (EB's are lighter and this is manual, ED XR6 = Tickford).

Hope that helped.

EDIT: $600 would be for parts.

Price will depend a lot on wat you can do yourself.. Mine only cost $350 including everything..

If the km's are that close go the ED for sure..

Cheers,
Nik

Well there is plenty of E-series boys in townsville who would help you out..

My local ford wrecker quoted me $800 including box, clutch and install.. So yer sometimes worth looking around..

But yer if the fact the ED is auto is the only thing turning you off then just realise its not that big a thing..

Cheers,
Nik

hey jock, You live in Annandale dont you?
If you can afford it, go for the ED.
The improvements from EB to ED where great.
If you want me to have a look at the cars with you i can thats no hassle, just PM me and i will give you my Phone number.

The EB is a great car, but even with teh slightly more kays on the XR6, it is going to hold its value for longer, and is a better car.

How much for the XE?
