wow didnt think we were racing for sheep station!
I dont know I'm just going off the times recorded. I know grip and brakes were major issues. As you probably saw with my car. What else do you whant me to say. Is the the other 1.09 recorded by the xr8 a load of crock the too. If so how can we say that the eights beat the sixes fairly? You opened up a can of worms! Regards Paul

The most unique sounding DJR320 ever returning from his warm down lap
Dad returning from his warm down lap not long after DOUK trying to take things seriously... and failing as usual :nutsycuck I have a lot more stashed away and even a video or two tucked away. Most of my photos of "on track" action aren't the greatest but I do have a lot of cars parked and looking pretty. If people want to see more let me know

I have not opened a can of worm, I am putting a myth to bed early. as I said, it is not good for someone to think they are 10-15sec a lap faster then what they really are. Because next time you go I dare say you will have more work done to your car and you will be expecting to go faster. But your time will reflect you are going slower due to the 1:09 error. You will also most likely tell your mate that you reeled off a 1:09 and your car is as fast a Sports Sedan. How embarrassing will it be the next time you can barely do a 1:17-1:18.... Chris, myself and quite a few other believe it should of been a 1:19, for both you and Chris (Coyote). The problem is, the time keepers have a bloody difficult job to do and mistakes very easily happen. Add to that the last minute rush to get all the data completed to announce the most fun winners. The pressure is on them in a big way.... Yes the 6's were beaten fair and square. Even after adjusting yours and Chris's lap times the over all lap average for the 6's and 8's is only changed by a few 100's of a sec. I am not trying to put you down Paul, I am just trying save you from major dissapointment when your next out there and you don't get close to getting the times you set out to achieve.... Matt |

At the end of the day guys I am still smiling from the fun I had. Just cant stop raving about how much fun it was!
Whether you drive a six or an eight the question is DID YOU HAVE FUN? I am proud of my car and what I have done with it! To enjoy it at its most extreme is the best fun I've had with my clothes on. Once again I thank all involved in running the day(its damm hard work). We should try to bring the date forward from december because it will be too hot and too punishing and the cars.Something to consider Ken.

Well, after seeing these great pics and hearing all the stories, bugger it... count me in for the next one!
Add another V8 to the champion team. I'll settle for the skid pan in the meantime. Last edited by WILDTRAKPX2; 25-04-2006 at 09:32 PM. |

I agrea with you both it is all about have fun and enjoying you machine first and kicking 6's butt second(or is it the other way around).... I am shaw every one gains from these meets as a driver and they get to know what the car can do....
Hey Ken, I will be the first to put my hand up to be a time keeper at the next round, providing I can still get out and run my timed laps(I have to keep the 6's honest,hey)... By the way... I have been talking to Mike from Total Driver, now if anyone is interested from the club (numbers pending) Mike will hold a club High performance drive training day at Lakeside (again pending the venue will be running, we all will know in about 2 weeks).......if it goes ahead he is going to arange it for XR Club members only (again pending numbers) |

G'day gang,
Re: Lakeside We'll work closely together on this one as we get closer to the time. Firstly, we have to win our tender to get the track permanently. That will be advised to us in May sometime. As for noise restrictions, we'll have to adhere to what the EPA designate for the zoning. I can't quite remember what the db reading must be below, but it is measured using a db measuring thinggy, set a certain distance from the track. Well, enough technical jargon - wish us luck with Lakeside, our plans for the area are nothing short of astounding! Chat soon,
