Our daughters 2012 Rio 1.6Si hatch has been faultless for the 3 years we’ve owned it, and the previous 5 years that Mother-in-law had it too (she bought it new)
Its had a hard last 3 years being driven by a P-Plater who doesn’t exactly keep it immaculate, but with regular servicing, fingers crossed it will keep on going.

I was meaning my mates not the car as laughable just to be clear.
I'm sure the Stinger is excellent value too. |

My mates aren’t buying the car so I’m not too concerned what they think!! Before I got my Ranger I looked at about 8 different utes, brand was not a consideration. The missus and I had a few “must haves”, the Ranger, bt50 and Dmax ticked those boxes so I bought the first good one I saw in my budget.
The way people complain on here about Ford warranty, I’m surprised anyone would still buy one haha!!! Not sure why the mate’s opinion would stop me buying the most suitable car for my needs and wants? Maybe I’m just an old grumpy bugger |

I know but feel sorry for him as when I was younger only Turbo 6s were for girls as the rest of us drove V8s.

I stopped by a VW dealer on the way home yesterday arvo for I spotted a Golf R.
Salesmen boasting its a Grid Edition blahblah but something I'm considering. 2017 manual in good nick with 49thou k's asking $40k. One owner mainly hwy use. It is near on what I'm after and 90% its just me in it BUT my 2 main criteria's are : now and then 14yr old daughter and friend for weekend sport Must fit golf clubs good enough. On both those counts it obviously doesn't pass with flying colours but you can live with it right, i30N will have similar restraint but you can near on get in a 2019 N or easily 2018 with 7yr WTY that also covers track use ! Sure the depreciation won't compare to the Golf but thats not my concern. @ stig 3754 - funnily when I mentioned to the salesmen of the i30N P - he couldn't counter but agree its a bloody great Hatch/Coupe. My test drive I very impressed how it went, the tech is brilliant as mentioned. I'd like the Coupe style.

![]() I'm handing down my daily 09 4x4 Hilux actually that has been faultless and I'm going to miss it amazingly. As for Stinger, I could jump in a low k one during my current search but tbh its not pulling me in as much as a good vehicle it is. The current Focus STLine/ST are nice small performance options - but there is so much out there @ the $40-50k pool. The i30NPerformance is a rippa but I'm feeling I'm needing something like a good ol 4door sedan. I'm hunting.

The new MY20 Focus ST looks interesting with 2.3L Turbo (available in both Manual and Auto).

i30NPerformance with sunroof $43,500 DA. Like I said there is so much to choose to that figure. I think I'm steering towards very low k 4door euros that has lost its first BIG depreciation hit. I better review a Stinger for the heck it seems. Still shopping.

I bought a new Cerato in 2015 and had it for 3 years - good car no complaints **my only dislike was a bit gutless that (I didn't really notice on test drive but did a little day to day if on the highway (overtaking) but plodding town in peak hour as a daily 100% fit for purpose.

For those who've been in a Stinger how big is the back seat?
My Falcon took my two Greyhounds ok, but hatches no chance. Is it reasonably spacious, say Mondeo size, or more Focus (which I've tried in a mates....no chance of fitting) |

In saying that probably more mondeo size in the rear. Or even between mondeo and commodore.

That should be fine and I'm becoming more interested as I investigate more into them. I'd much prefer a wagon but options are just so limited. |

The hatchback element makes for a massive boot, no good for putting dogs in the back though. But if the dogs are happy in the backseat why not.

Yeah dogs fine with back seat but I couldn't with children so needed a wagon. Now no child I have a spare back seat but it needs to be pretty big - thanks again. |

Had a BA XR6T a while back. I would probably "consider" swapping the FPV GT for a Kia Stinger (like the XR6T, it would use a little less petrol and still be enjoyable).
