The night was great, not too many cars and fun for all.

I ran a PB of 14.43, but had way too much fuel in the car (half a tank) was so itchin for a 14.3, I will let the other boys post their times but all the guys who ran, hyboi, tuf240,Samboh and myself were pullin respectable times for the ford component out there last night.

I had 5 runs all up and in every case the stallie helped me give the cars a bit of a shake up , turbo ute had him all the way till about 25 from the line,

We all had fun and was a great night cant wait till next time.

What were the temp like? 14.43 with a 1/2 tank is a good time. You should get closer to 14.3 if you run without it.

Track temp was 30 degrees and humid was about 65% i think with 1100 odd of the other kpa or whatever.

Thanks also goes out to Samboss260 for letting me whack the spare and tool box in his XR8, and vids taken, Best 60 foot was a 2.179 and it didnt sound like it but felt like wheel spin off the line, had 205's on the rear.
Rest of car street trim Oh I did take the baby seat out though

I tried running the fuel down on the way out air co full on and performance all the way out and drop and boot etc etc didnt get rid of enough

i had an absolutely retarded night... i dont know why i bothered after good fryday's diff killing efforts. 1st and 2nd gears would just be peeling 1 wheel, even if I was feathering the go pedal. so depressing. i should have my lock-right fitted in a few weeks, so no more traction problems from a ghey lsd.

the best time i could manage was 14.8, and that was with a 2.4 second 60ft. Thats 0.5 off my usual 60ft time.

I feel your pain mate.I trusted and gave benefit of the doubt to my first diff company only to get to the track and single spin...frustrating to say the least. Get it fixed and despite tht bad run I know you are a champion!!

Car: 331 - 661
Reaction: .461 - .587
60ft: 2.165 - 2.264
330ft: 6.106 - 6.269
660ft 9.339 - 9.475
mph: 76.27 - 77.48
1000ft: 12.119 - 12.195
E.T. 14.470 - 14.494
MPH: 95.97 - 98.04

Like I said, great night, though I did manage to throw the car into limp mode on the final run, forgot i put it into manual mode...lol...knob....

Wheelspin is only good for burnouts and drifting, not the drags. :(

The LSD i have has done less than 10,000k's, but its had a hard life. I think a Lokka (positive locking centre) is the only option from here. I have the lokka, just need an open centre to put it in, and also get the centre fitted.

A few responses here... and can't quite manage the "multiple quotes" in a single post...

XTC 190 - Anytime mate, you know that. And bring on June/July, 1/4 tank of fuel and you will see 14.3's my friend. No doubt about it.

OED666 - Paul, good seeing you again mate. I only noticed your car towards the end when I saw your OED666 number plate on your dash. Look forard to seeing you ate the T&T's again mate.

3 - I thought that the standrd XR8's run low to mid 14's? You had a thread a while ago didn't you? When you were trying to get in the 13's? What were people saying then about a standard XR8? And what has your best time been?

To everybody else, good night. And damn, those dagwood dogs were calling me all night !!

Sam I am so sorry bout eating that Dagwood dog in front of you I shouldve have thought, but dam it was good

Maybe I should invest in a custom tune.
Nah I will just aim for a 13 without the custom for the moment

Anyone got any idea what Tuf240 quickest time was overall.

Nah Jas, it wasn't you that was killing me.... it was the smel wofting over to the grandstands directly opposite !!!

Not sure what TUF240 ran, but his manual launches is what caused him dramas. I just did a quick search, and "3" was running low 14's on his first run in August down south. And eventually ran into the 13's. So his XR8 and mine should be good for 14.2's to 14.4's.... surely.

And I agree, crack into the 14.3's then get your custom tune.

My current PB is 13.98 @ 102.62 set back in Feb. Conditions were pretty good with an ambient temp of 22.5. Full weight including spare tyre etc. Half tank fuel. My 60ft was a poor 2.293 (which is good for me though, hehe). Stock XR8s are good for low 14s @ 100mph. Weather conditions, 60ft time, and traction are important factors however. I'm curious to see what the other XR8s managed.

I had 5 runs, first at about 10 to 5 where the track temp was still 44 degrees...

Best of a 15.907 for the night @ 88.88 mph. I think I win Mr. Consistancy award...

16.31
15.95
15.92
15.90
15.91

All around the 88 mph mark bar the first run.

well had an absolute shocker.i cant launch it if my life depends on it....best was

14.62@101.9mph
reaction was 0.690
60ft: 2.421
it comes on real strong at then end, like i was reeling in the turbos, but i just couldnt get it off the line without bogging it down or wheels spin....like with scott, he would get the launches and be like 2 car lengths ahead then i would pull him in at the end and be on his bumper....
i did beat the turbo ute by 2 car lengths though, so i was happy bout that....lol...

if anyone can give me and tips on how to launch a 5sp manual V8.that would be good

i think i did alright.it was my first ever time at the track. totally missed 3rd gear in my last race against that VE maloo, ended up wit a 15.1 lol.just couldnt get it in gear and ended up just coasting over the line....lol....

was so much fun...i know i could get a real low 14 or maybe even a very high 13 if i could just get it off the line.

first run i did a 14.8 that run i nearly stalled it off the line, like it bunny hopped, and then i hit the limiter in 2nd and missed putting it into 3rd...lol....ill get better it more practise and less nerves ;) i hope...

i also had 3/4 of a tank and all spare tyre and jack.....

cant wait till the next one

considering my starts are very poor but my end speed is good. does that mean if i could get traction that there would be a fair bit more improvement in it?like i was still doing over 101mph on a really bad launch wit hitting the limiter.lol...so if i could get it goin could i crack into 13s?like 3?would be sweet to do a 13.99 stock as a rock....lol...along way to go before that...

All around the 88 mph mark bar the first run.
Hey Rapid, My apologies mate. I remember seeing a Rapid NA XR6, but did not realise it was you, hence didn't come over and say G'day. Sorry about that. I wasn't racing, just taking photos/vids from the stands and then walking around the staging lanes from time to time.

Sorry about that mate.
