i personally prefer 14 or 15" tyres on old cars,especially on hardtops etc.
getting hard to buy white lettering tyres these days but.i loved the yokohama radial 352's or the bf goodrich radial ta's

My last XY Fairmont had Simmons B 45 with grey argent centers 16 x8 front and 16x9 rear with 225 and245 50 series tyres I don't like the big 20 inch look 17 is maximum and besides the car wasn't made by ford to ride on such big wheels the suspension can't compensate for the lack of sidewall that normally Cushions the ride , it just shakes your car to death IMO

Its my biggest gripe with new styled old school cars. Big ugly chrome wheels that look like they belong on a matchbox car.

My misses shows me some pictures from car shows and what not....my response is always....nice car, terrible wheels.

I've got an old Buick I'm eventually going to restore and was looking at going the big wheels but I've decided I will keep the factory look wheels and caps.

Your right. So I popped out and measured the diameter of the Whitewall. The tyres are 215/75-14. To the outer edge 18.3"

Overall Tyre diameter is only 1mm different on the rear and 15mm smaller on the front.

even with the original wheels that buick will look sweet when its restored!!! I like big wheels but there is a thing called over kill! also original oldies have that certain style that i like!!
