The biggest headache is driving these vehicles in city areas, most employees are compliant but find other driver think they’re idiots, accusing them of brake checking when slowing to 80 and 60 on off ramps- lots of nut jobs out there that don’t understand the system even when explained to them. So yeah, a lot of unmonitored drivers out there are driving roughly 10 kph over the limit pretty much all the time. Last edited by jpd80; 27-08-2023 at 03:32 PM. |

You would think so, but unfortunately Dan the dictator has seen our roads in Victoria in such disrepair is beyond the joke, I'm talking of our major roads not our secondary roads.

Apparently regional VIC needs $1B in maintenance on its rural highways - there was $380M we just threw down the toilet a few weeks ago which could have bought a few repairs. Though I think mid north coast of NSW (Taree region) takes the cake for Australia's worst roads, its like driving on the surface of the moon up there, you need one of Vlad's T72 tanks to navigate that joint. |

I have to wonder how many people actually know if their speedo is correct or not.
I know mine runs 4 k faster than I am going so I regularly sit the cruise on 106-108 in a 100 zone 115-117 in 110 zone and go through radars at that while everyone else is on the brakes. |

I set mine via GPS - 100 indicated is 96 in the Fiesta ST and it goes down to 94/93 as tyres wear down.

so chances are you're travelling slower than your speedo says. Digital speedometer apps allows you to measure your speed more accurately by using GPS. Our Mazda CX-7 base model had a weird hard to get tyre size, so knowing that it reads 4 to 6 kph faster, we were able to go to a 225/60/17 and have a speedometer much closer to correct. |

Same argument for a lot of places in the US where on highways the police regularly ignore people traveling 15-20mph over the posted limit as long as *everyone* is speeding....

You see it blowing total disregard for such brats who are way out of control, but you are over 1 KM/H well that's a huge deal to be taken so seriously. I would be saying as for brats that number one, the police will polish their boots on a lot of brats tails directly ! That's what happened in my day as a child and you knew it and got the message. I have brats getting about here driving like total morons, no reg'o loud as trying to be morons ! riding bikes loud as flat out, wheel standing no helmet on ! they do not care as the Law is nothing to them. i think it's kids on ICE and such rubbish, their brains are fried ! The Governments have created all such in fact. You were warned by the police first and then they kept an eye on you. A mate coped it with turtle pecks on the head. and another got the phone book wrapped over his head ! They had ways back then, because they were responsible for their patch being kept clean, or above them would be looking polishing their boots on their tail. I believe the Bris - G Coast Highway should be 120 KM/H in the far right lane and so Australian idiots get used to like in Europe that the faster you go, you sit in the right hand lane and the slower you go you move to the left, that way no one overtakes on the left for crying out loud ! Such will make the highway not clog up so much. keep in your correct lanes ! It's not all about exceeding the posted limit but not being a goose is more important than anything. |
