My biggest surprise was a brake line replacement. My original quote was $50, as they had dealt with me for 7 years through my work place. Final bill $350, or there abouts.

To top it off, the idiots cut the rubber grommets, where the brake line went through the firewall and floor pan and left the brake line sticking up at the rear, where the seat went. The brake line was left to rub on the nice sharp edges of the firewall and floorpan. When I took it back, the mongrels claimed I the grommets were old and split. I told them to replace them, so all they did was silasticed them in place and booted the car off. Oh and he brake line sticking up, didn't touch it.

Needless to say, I have rubbished them to everyone possible and they have lost a fair bit of business as a result.

In other words, a posting to get your post count up.

I've got two.

Optus decided to take $12,750 off my AMEX in one hit. I didn't think I made any phone calls with the land line that month, let alone $12,750's worth. After many phone calls, it was realised that the decimal was way off, and it should have been $127.50. They also credited me three months worth of Internet usage, which came in very handy.

I also got a water bill for $3.90. They credited me a bloody lot, because there was an interruption of service for both Sewer and Water on the same day. Strange, I don't remember losing any service.

Thank you

Unfortunately i cannot get my Lexmark printer to connect with my new laptop ??
Otherwise i would scan up the invoice my sister got for her Honda Jazz ..

At the 90000km service she was charged $1100 , she was expecting $300+ something .

A fair bit of that was for a timing belt replacement.... After i stormed in there and demanded the old belt wearing my workshirt her bill was refunded in full..

They have timing chains... and she didnt ask me to do the service because i had three jobs at the time .. fair dinkum ya gotta watch em' .
Daz...

Whenever I get asked about internet (mostly by relatives) I say, stay away from optus or telstra and make sure there are no extra charges if the limit is exceeded. Shaping sucks but so does a huge bill.
Most people think they will never use much, but once you get used to the speed its addictive and you will use more.
Glad the OP had a win with the ISP

As for unexpected bills.... horse 1k, dog 2k, another horse 1k and the horse died

Optus $69.99 250gb on peak, 250gb off peak. speed limited!

thats not bad if you ask me!

It's bloody good isn't it? I tried my hardest to cap myself last month, and only managed 110gb. I must be doing something wrong.

Like vztrt, I've been with Optus since the early 00's, and I've always been capped and speed limited, not charged for excess data usage. Optus do charge for excess usage on some Fusion plans.
