Tuesday odd car spots included a modded Smart Fortwo, a seventies Kombi, an eighties/nineties Kombi and a mustard colour Hillman Hunter with black vinyl roof. As I was driving and it was a distance away, couldn’t tell if it was a Royale - looked well-kept regardless.

This morning: a circa-1975 Corona sedan, white, with B/W personalised plates.

(Looking at pics on the net to see what year it was I saw a couple of pics of station wagon Coronas with roof racks. Years ago a friend had a new Corona wagon with factory racks; it must have been a newer model than the one I saw today. He went to the Melbourne zoo once, came back out to the car park and someone had removed the racks ...... )

There's a really nice late 60's split window Kombi next door to where we are staying.

Had a relatively rare sight today… neighbors dad was over… elderly gent in a BA1 Futura… dark blue (can’t remember the colour name) with Grey interior… one owner, 120k km full ford service history… absolutely mint down to the paint and even the alloys…. Bloody beautiful condition…. Had a decent chat with him, copped a bit of stick for having a Holden in the garage… didn’t have my phone with me as I was mowing the lawn but I’ll try get some photos next time he is there…

In front yard of a house I regularly walk past there was a Toyota (Ultima?) Seca this morning; blue colour; looks to be in fairly good condition; no reg; first time I have seen it there.

There was a Silver P6 LTD at Coles Donvale (Melbourne Easter Suburbs) this evening, club plates.
The driver was leaving as I drove into the Car Park.

Yesterday in Bulleen: XR Falcon ute on B/W full reg plates probably the original plates, looking super original, white, venetian blind, tarp, mud flaps (on rear at least), 'Fordomatic 3.S' badge on tail gate (I guess that's '3.S' for three speed auto and not '3.5' for 3.5 litres?)

Fordomatic was a 2 speed, and were never in XRs.

Yes the mighty Borg Warner 35. I had one behind a 3.6 litre in my XP Hardtop back in the eighties. Changed it from a 170 cube 3 speed manual to that combo. What a lovely car that was!

Yep all XR on had 3 spd autos. The last of the XPs also had the 3 spd auto. The 6 cyl and early V8 XR autos were BW35 then the V8 BW got dropped for the C4 which was labeled the Cruiso.O Matic..The base manual XRs had a non synchro first gear, but that got dropped, then they were all full synchro manual

My mums neighbor (well the person with the garage in the basment of her block next to hers) has 2 cars. Ones a newish amg. The other is what my mum calls a loudold nissan. The old Nissan is worth more then the amg. Its a clean as vspec r34 gtr. Standard issue hks or whatever exhaust on it with the fart cannon, rims on it, but otherwise stock. Its probably the only nissan that you could sell a kidney and a testicle yet still not afford.

Not old but I don't see many of these on the road at all. In fact, apart from my mate's two examples (he has both a Sprint 6 and an 8), I can't recall ever seeing another one on the road on my daily commute.

Had a Sprint 6 pass me this morning. It was the drls that grabbed my attention in the rear vision mirror. Smoke colour. Surprised me he was out today as it was quite wet. A day I wouldn't even consider driving the XR8 in.

I've seen a few around. See one every few weeks really.

But they really didn't build a hell of a lot of them, and many are stored away. So it's not surprising you don't see many.

Confession: I have always loved the 2000's Holden Monaro. I spotted an early build V2 in that orange launch colour this morning. Stock standard and clean as a whistle, just the way I like it.

Well i don't normally post in here but Bathurst brings out some oddities.

Dont like them, but saw two Sub SVX this week but this one in cracking condition outside Bunnings.

And this one had me scratching my head at Dans. A lot easier these days less hair than before. I do confess i had zero idea what this was without a google. UK kit car Ultima GTR. Curves are handsome front questionable huge air intake over the roof and two big **** pipes hanging out the rear garnish. Very businesslike critter, can't say i'd EVER seen one.

A unusual look but not quite.
Stolen from the Wiki:
The design is mid engined, rear wheel drive layout, with a tubular steel space frame chassis and GRP bodywork

Sub 1000kg

Looks a lot like this one:

White Porsche 928S in “driven daily” condition, back streets of Eastwood NSW as I cut across suburbs yesterday.

Think they were a model blighted by the failure-prone silicone oil headlight levellers.
