I don't like Chev badges on Commodores, even if it's a V8.

It looks tacky. Maybe I should put a Nissan badge on my car, because it has a a Nissan motor. :

On old Holdens, I can accept it. I dunno but when I see a EH, with a 350 and chev badges, it looks cool, but they look shit on Commodores.

At least a blue oval means it is a FORD, no misunderstandings or anything to be ashamed about there.

Only in the US, called the SC400, in Japan they were called Soarers.
When they are imported from Japan 2nd hand into Australia the Toyota badges get ripped off and Lexus badges get installed.

I just sold my V6 Vectra. it had Holden badges all over it, except when you looked at those bits people don;t generally look at, then you'd find all the Opel badges.

Having a Ford bias, I was quick to tell people who asked about the car that is was actually and Opel. Even though it was still a GM, that somehow made me feel better...

Now I've got Territory, there's nothing to hide.

I don't mind chev badges, only because I don't actually like the holden badge design. The Chev outline badge looks cleaner.

Default Exclusive! Pontiac G8 revived in Australia

Not quite Chevy badges, but you get the point. This should make some try hards happy:

I dont mind the chev badges on the v8's with the LS1 onwards, but its just stupid on the v6's.
I have to say though, I saw a VE SS ute the other day with chev badges and the PONTIAC G8 grill and it looked pretty nice.

There is no such thing as a Chevrolet engine, Pontiac engine, Buick engine, Holden engine etc anymore. It's all GM Powertrain now. So put "GM Powertrain" badges on it. I think leave whatever badges came on the car. Otherwise you're a wannabe.

Oh what a fun way to use up unneeded parts in the bin

Still, different I guess!

On the OP there is a SV6 running around debadged here in SA with quads and Chev badges. Doesnt quite sound the part tho...still if the missus wont let you BUY the V8 you really want.......silent protest is sometimes your only avenue.

Wonder how XR's with FPV badges count....(where is that duck for cover icon).

I think its the same thing, if you have a FORD XR then dont badge it as a FPV! Coz its not an FPV. Maybe the GT stripes is ok on an XR (even though I dont think it looks good) but dont badge it as an FPV

haha thats ok because then it will be an authentic FPV. Talking about the GS though, I love the concept but whats with the "GS" badge or sticker design? looks like it belongs on a spaceship not a ford

I don't know about other Holdens, but I'm pretty sure on the V8 Commodores, it's an NCO (no cost option) at order, on a new Commodore from the factory, to have Chev. badges instead of Holden badges on the car.

Huh, why would you???

If I had a VE SS I would not put a Chev badge on it even a HSV badge either. But I fail to see why some people here get there knickers in such a tangle over this????

This is a generational thing for hi-po Holden anyway. They have been sticking the bow tie onto HK to WB Monaros Prems Statesmans etc for over 40 years now. It usually meant that they were conversions from 186 etc to small block Chevs anyway. This generation just seem to be in tune with this heritage and recognise that if it was not because of the "Chevrolet" Corvette program, then Holden would not have access to the type of power plant either.

As for the original topic, Chev badges on a V6 well there are always going to be wannabes now aren't there, no different to putting a bonnet bulge onto an XR-6 then either. It really does not bother me!
