Actually the two 'options' have different meanings. Your little card is a licence, but the social agreement allowing you to drive is a license?

Re-est everyone done for breaking a road rule. The time effort alone will fix the problem that fines alone seem to fail to fix.

Had this tonight on the run in to Melbourne on the Western Hwy. People sitting 100kph in the right lane with about 10 cars lined up behind them. I don't think a licence test will provide the necessary attitude adjustment. Some people are just dicks.

No he means elderly drivers, not people like you in the prime of their lives.

I think all drivers should be banned, I'm yet to see a perfect one.

Self-driving vehicle will get rid of the problem of right lane hogs.

I tend to agree in the short term more policing is the answer as regardless of their road rule knowledge some people just drive to suit themselves.

And what's with the latest, cars weaving in and out of lanes, not indicating once, or slamming on the brakes in a bank of traffic, only to turn without indicating, it's getting worse.
Europe celebrates how hard it is to get a license, and how strict adherence to road rules make the system work better for all drivers, here we celebrate mediocrity.
I know of a lot of people who always sat on 50mph 80KM/H max highway speed even back in the 60's it was for fuel economy they say, but it's also got to do with their lack of competence as well.
Thing is I believe their vision is just that crappy that anything beyond that is to much for them.
The licence eye test is a disgrace.
The law comes down on seasoned drinkers that are over 0.05, when clearly the fact is that some of us could be at 0.20 and still be way better drivers than a lot on the road.

Did a test with a mate who is just as good a dirtbike rider as I, we drank 10 stubbys of XXXX Bitter in say 2 to 3HR and then raced around his property track with no problems at all just as fast sober.
Now he did experimenting with other people to see just how they go, fact is he says is that good riders who can drink well are fine, but bad riders are worse and hopeless drinkers are totally hopeless.
We have driven paddock bashers around rallying flat out like with no problems and drinking.

I find that drinking beer tired will slow you down when just sitting about, but drinking rum or wine does not make you tired.
