This black duck would and has. Personally, I find it more enjoyable frightening a V8 driver with a piddly 6 cyl. Only because the majority of people say you need a V8 for power, when a 6 cyl is more that upto the task. But hey, it's personal preference, so no offense intended towards you, or anyone for that matter

XC is a pretty cool car, and being that it won't be a matching number car if you put a clevo in it, this is the answer http://fordracingparts.com/parts/par...KeyField=10355
It will make you smile everytime you think about it, let alone drive it.

Wouldn't care if it was a grandpa spec 25 km original condition what ever .... bin the 6 (wouldn't even bother selling it) and throw in a 351 ....... and no ...... a 6 will NEVER scare an 8. The sound alone is testament to that!
Of course ...... IMO!!!!

Make it a beast. I love the look of old cars that have been tastefully modded.

agreeing with JC on this one make it modern on the inside keep it classic on the outside although I'm not sure if there is an aftermarket ecu that can run these engines well yet.

I reckon if you're to put money into it, do something out of the ordinary, Toyota 1UZFE V8, 5sp W58 manual gearbox.
Still has that V8 sound, smooth 32 valve quad cam engine, the first generation ones I think late 80s to 1994 have 6 bolt mains, very thick conrods, the entire engine is bullet proof and there is a massive amount of aftermarket support for them, they take turbo/supercharger very well without issues. |

I have a '66 XP Coupe and I bought it because it was near on original, in most cases older cars in original condition are worth more money.
Someone needs to preserve the history, I see more XP Coupes with a V8 in them than what I see original.

You could stick to OEM hardware. Upgrade to the 9"/351/single-rail drive-line; it would be relatively cheap easy and could look like it rolled out of the factory that way... plus be a bit more fun to drive.

If the car is an investment, I'd leave it original, if you bought it to have fun....go nuts.
In my observations, 'original' examples tend to win peoples choice, at displays/ car shows etc. All depends on what you bought it for. |

Don't give me no XY GTHO either, those people who held onto theirs had no idea what they'd sell for 40 years later and I doubt it was for investment purposes. |

how about this one -
I could sell it tomorrow, for a profit on what I paid.... and I haven't done a thing to it yet. http://www.fordforums.com.au/showthread.php?t=11347353 Cars can be investments, but very rarely. edit - I wonder where all the BA corba's have gone?....
