You can not help some people, but a lot of times the problem seems to be self correcting, just feel sorry for the innocent ones that get caught up along the way

Has it been confirmed that this crash was the cause of an accident or driver ignorance/stupidy yet..?
My first impressions are that this is just another replay of the Blue XR6 fiasco we had a year or two ago, idiot driver thinking he is untouchable acting like a hero in front of a group of mates and it all turns up **** creek when his ignorance catches up with him. And burnouts left at the scene over night by friends assuming? Strengthens my opinion of what kind of person the driver (and quite possibly the passengers were) was. I have absolutely no sympathy if this was the case. None at all. BUT... If this turns out to be a misjudge of road due to inexperience (I'm not familiar with this road at all) and it's all an unfortunate accident then it's a tragedy. |

dead set, your a complete *** wit champ! Guess you hate werribee? or were you brought up there and "got out before it got bad"?? wow, werribee hits the head lines twice in a few years and its a "hole" built ontop of YOUR ****? so not only do you have it in for werribee, your **** also does not stink? i was at this accident, actually thought the car was a sedan, not a wagon. not a nice thing to see. i have seen worse in my line of work. but although this did happen in werribee, and the friends were what YOU would call 'scum" they are still humans. they lost a friend/friends. The girl was from Warnambool. what if these kids were from your town and it happened in werribee, does that still make it a "hole"? dont get me wrong, i dont agree with what the friends were doing one little bit, but dont go laying blame on the town champ. blame it on the stupid driver. 2 innocent lives lost. oh wait, it was WERRIBEE that done it! werribee and all its ferals. grow up and look at the big picture, WERRIBEE didnt kill these kids, nor the road, nor the kids in the back seat, it was the driver that was doing 180kms in a car that was not even road worthy.

It seems harsh to say so soon after such a tragedy but this sorta stuff is what Darwin used to crap on about. It happens in towns all over Australia and also in the inner city areas too. You certainly can't label particular towns as being prone to these incidents because it's too widespread.. nor can you blame 18 or 19 yr olds, because there's people aged 15 right thru to 40 who do this. What does seems to be consistant however, is the mindset of the offenders/victims.. the arrogant, over-confident, bulletproof, alcohol soaked and possible drug affected ego of the self proclaimed high skilled driver. And as confirmation, the tribute left by the others in the group who's lives were spared THIS TIME rings very true of the mentality of the occupants of this ill fated Commodore.
edit: ..and furthermore, the 'tribute' left by the friends can be very indicative of things that were important to the deceased. If someone dies in a road ACCIDENT whilst one their way home from work, there's likely to be things left by family and friends that are fit for the victim eg, flowers, photos, maybe a stuffed toy, favourite clothing or other personal affect left at the crash site. When someone dies in an act of high speed driving dickery, the victim's friends always seem to litter the site with things they see to be important which is generally grog cans, explicit tribute notes 'douggy you were a f**in' legend, ****** we'll miss ya mate, lay some black straps at the gates of heaven for us champ!' and in this case even donuts at the scene. These skid marks in Werribee speak volumes I think

Bang on. Oh and Belial. Tarneit!! I had a schoolteacher Die in Tarneit Rd when I was in Grade three at Corpus Christi Primary. He was speeding down Tarneit Rd in his Pulsar Turbo and hit a tree at somewhere near 170km/h... He was about 24 or so at the time. Blood tragic, my first experience of the finality of Death, at the tender age of 7. |

my bad, guess im the only one then ![]() if every single person that has responded here has never gone over the limit or raced from the lights or has never performed a bit of a burnout on a public road then ill eat my hat. only difference is you where obviously luckier than this guy and managed to get away unscathed. we where all young once and some where a bit sillier than others. some of us have even gone on to become better and more responsible road users. obviously this guy will never have that chance now. im well aware that not all car enthusiasts are like this nor am i making excuses for this kind of behaviour. on the subject of guys doing burnouts at the scene of brocks accident, i couldnt think of a more appropriate tribute. your kidding yourself if you think brocky wouldnt have dropped a few skids in his younger days ![]() not looking to get into an argument over my opinions regarding this matter. you have all had your say and so have i now. stay safe and look out for your fellow road users ![]() |

To say PB would have appreciated this type of 'tribute' is laughable. The man was a safe driving advocate and wore the 05 number on his race cars to help drive home the .05 message and the safe use of a motor car, he did his thing on the track where it should be done. The only appropriate tribute given to the great man were the words of Allan Moffat at his funeral and the look on Lowndesys face on the podium at Bathurst that year, the rest is all **** factor from a handful of wannabee's, much like the people discussed in this thread. |

Hundreds of examples and zillions of dumb, unthinking behaviour examples by peers 'paying respect' at crash scenes. Kids and some parents don't take driving seriously, the state does or tries too, at least. When teaching teens, I make them wear safety vests, teach - that having one in their own car is appropriate, then I make them fold it up and stow. I teach them to use hazard lights appropriately, place and set the triangle etc. I make them 'use that gear', and also to watch closing traffic, and 'why' in regards closing speed and the potential of distraction.

Until the young realise they are not invincible, and accept that their driving skills are poor... you will see this kind of accident happen time and time again (as proven by the numerous previous examples... not to mention the 2 almost identical accidents in Werribee and Crib Point in the past couple of days)...
I just hope that it's not my car/house/family that they plow into next... and I hope that I can teach my kids the kind of values that will hopefully reduce the likelyhood of them hoping in the car with a hoon mate and wiping themselves out...

It's a stinking shithole of a place without any redeeming features whatsoever. If I haven't been there in the course of a year, then its been a good year. The best thing about Werribee is watching it get smaller in your rearview mirror.
