In terms of size, it really depends upon what measuring stick you are using.
Right down the very bottom, there is a circle with BB, & a number in it. Tis a link to BigBoards, which is a website comparing some of the large forum sites out there on the web.

I doubt it, they have been around over 8 years. But they have had the forums reset a few times for security updates etc.

Congratulations to the Admin team on starting up something so great, and well done to the whole forum community for making this such a welcoming, friendly and all round generally great forum.

To tell the truth I used to be somewhat a "Forum whore", going from forum to forum, posting for a few months, then gradually disappearing off it never to post again, I think AFF is one of the only forums I've signed up to, and remained active on, purely because I do enjoy reading & posting here.

Well done everyone. Here's to another three million!!!

Congratulations AFF. Hopefully we see 10.000.000 soon.

Russelw deserves 3.000.000 posts. He can change his post count to 3.000.000 anytime he wants from the admin panel. I would love to do that. One day you see 10000 post, the next day 3.000.000. What a great effort

Congrats AFF, truly a great forum that is operated and fostered by a very dedicated and focussed team.

A question about the number though, why does the "post count" on the home page only say 2,871,000?

The front page statistics are a dynamic count of the current totals - which the script produces by adding up all the forum totals that it can see.

Thus deleted posts and posts in forums marked as hidden do not get included in the total but the actual database post counter continues to increment by one which is how we knew the 3 millionth was approaching.

It's the same with the current membership numbers - we are currently up to about 80,000 actual registrations but the front page stats display 59,000 odd. In this instance the variation is deleted registrations - a combination of spammers, duplicate accounts and purges of inactive members.

Cheers
Russ
