Of course it begs the question why bolt the Dash onto the Carpet?

Why wouldn't the dealer get the replacement carpet in before tearing the car apart? If there was a complaint about the fitment of the carpet surely it wouldn't have got to this stage before they decided to replace it?

So, for the sake of a bit of misfitting carpet, the whole interior is pulled out...and will probably never be the same again...Imagine all the squeaks and creaks! fools....

The first replacement Carpet was on it's way when the interior was pulled out, trouble is when it turned up it was defective!

I was half joking when I posted that, but (and yes I know it was a mistake) when I purchased a Daewoo Espero back in 1996 the carpet was shocking in that thing and i never worried about it because they wanted the car for too long to fix it.

My 2003 BA GTP came with an air bubble on the dash. I didn't realise it until the first time it was parked in the sun and the damn thing expanded a little bit.
The dealer said the dash would have to be replaced and this was a major job with the steering column to be dropped, seats to come out etc. I decided to live with it as a) it's not that noticeable and b) I didn't want the car coming back with squeaks and rattles as it is as tight as a drum. A couple of upholsterers have also told me that it cant be fixed in-situ. Seeing these pics I'm glad I decided against the dash replacement; it would break my heart to see my car like that. |
