Ford also designed a FIESTA for India.

That would be because it is! It's the Mk6 Fiesta (WQ to us) just facelifted. I'd never buy one if they sold it here in place of the current (and brilliant) Mk7 as it looks very very dated, however if they sold it as a 10 or 11k cheap alternative it may sell better than some of the Chinese crap we are bound to get here soon.

Oh and FIGO? Wouldn't wanna miss pronounce that one... "Figa" Is the italian word for c*^t :monkes:

I agree it is ugly, but it is really nice compared to what comes out of India (thinking Tata and Mahindra), so it should sell well there. Also, i imagine price is more important than anything there. There is no compact car that looks as good as the new Fiesta.

those saying its ugly....

this is what it has to compete with...the following are the top 5 sellers in the last financial year....

Maruti Suzuki Alto - 212,568

Maruti Suzuki WagonR - 134,768

Tata Indica - 111,256

Maruti Suzuki Swift - 110,071

Hyundai i10 - 106,095

and now to put the Figo in the same pic....

Ford Figo

sorry about all the pictures...but I thought it would give ppl a better idea of what it was competing against, and why priced right, it should succeed.

Edit: I am a retard, for some reasons the other pics arent coming up as images, but as links...kind of ruins the comparison.

The swift and the i10 look fine, Certainly not ugly so I don't see why you're using them as "ugly" comparisons.

Especially the Swift - a proven good looker. Ford would have been better off selling the Mk6 WQ Fiesta there unchanged. I'm not big on this one. But again, it's for the indian market, and I'd have to agree it seems to suit perfectly.

because if you read any of that article its designed for the indian market.

not using it as an ugly comparison, just as what it has as competitors. only 2 out of those 5 are lookers, the others are not so great.

So the boring, bland, outdated etc etc lines of the Figo shouldnt be an issue...Middle class India thinks they are great.

@Boss315 - ta!
