Same with any ad that this community thought was a good advert. The general populace wouldn't remember that either. Anyway, apologies for the hijack. New ranger looks good.

I like it but is it just me or are there parts of the video that look CGI?
In particular the power slide in the snow. In fact the more times i view it the more it looks like camera angles and editing play a big part in exaggerating what its actually doing. Last edited by BENT_8; 10-09-2021 at 08:19 AM. |

Front end is looking a bit F Truck like and that's a good thing.
Now we just need V6 diesel and option of comfortable rear suspension and I'm sold. |

I think you are potentially misinterpreting the lack of body roll and exemplary balance or poise on the snow as a sign it's not a real scene....:...just some Friday fun.

I dont hate Ford i just dont respect them because they dont always respect their customers.
I do like Aussie Fords and whilst that chapter is closed the Ranger with its Aussie input is the closest thing to what we had so it is very much an option for us. My Wife loves them and has basically said if we get a dual cab for our tow duties then Ranger would be on the list at the top. Personally i have a whatever will do the job for the least amount of outlay type of attitude to car buying as they depreciate so quickly and so a GLXR Triton would be ample and tick that box for a proven product, however, at almost 50k for an example i think a XLS would be worth the stretch. If Ford offer the boosted petrol version in that guise and around that money it would be hard to look past as i dont really need stump pulling torque to pull our smallish van. Yes, they say pigs might fly, but they also say you may eat your words so i hope you have an appetite if thats the path we choose. Ok. |

I'll reserve my judgment until I see it in it's real habitat of taking the kids to school and sitting an inch off my rear end tailgating me on the way to work of a morning.

Assuming the price point is comparable to the current model, I’m eagerly awaiting some proper information on this thing.
If it’s a baby F150 much like Nissan has done with the Navara I’m keen, I’d buy the Nav tomorrow if it had a more interesting power train. We might be off to buy our first new car in 2022, exciting times. |

Congratulations, you’ve just figured out what film makers and video producers have been doing since the very start.

This is shaping up to be a brilliant step up from the current model. I was due to buy a new/ near new car about now but I’m holding off until I see the new model and what body organ I’ll have to sell to pay for it.

This is Ford going all out against Hilux and Tacoma, the new Ranger is on another level.
Ford has listened and delivered a seriously good product. Well done. |

I'm still hoping for a lightning version like the F150. I'll be first in line.

I say this because both move on average 4500 per month, its widely accepted that 25% of Hilux sales are 4x2 which Ford arent interested in so that leaves low 3k 4x4 Hilux. Some people will buy Hilux as thats just what they do, so say they grab 50% of those 3k Hilux buyers, thats only 1500 more sales. Personally i think they need to also target mid spec Triton and the like in that sub 50k bracket that dont need or want a diesel, thats me. Offer an XLS in EB form that competes with GLXR at just under 50k and im interested for sure. |

Interested to see which Engines are available with which spec though... My old man is keen on a XLT, but with the V6 Diesel and he's got a deposit down pending this exact thing. Fingers crossed its an option, and they dont keep it for the Wildtrack/Raptor only... Not to mention if the V6 Diesel Wildrack isnt more than $75-80k im in when we replace wifey's Kia in a few years...

My Wife and i are spending the weekend in Hahndorf and have already been to the Ford dealer in Mt Barker/Totness and looked at the current gen XLS 3.2 in silver, they were closing so we couldnt do anything more than look but it got us talking about our options. We also looked at a new GWM CannonX which we could have for 42kda and the Wife didnt mind it as it felt comfortable as the seats are a bit softer. As i said earlier in the thread we wont be doing anything until early next year but the point is having shown her the teaser vid it got us talking about it and into a dealership. **** me you campaigners are hard to please, bag the company and cop ****, give them a go and cop ****, not sure why we'd bother to be honest. Perhaps you could give Ford a call and tell them how clever you are in hanging **** on a potential customer, i mean they'll get fanboi's like you in the seat without wasting money on teaser vids, if theyre looking at growing the product something tells me im in their intended target audience, im sure they'll be rapt with your efforts. |
