Nice car mate and enjoy it. There is no doubt that this is a much better car then the BA ever was and will be.

It is funny reading some of the one eyed feedback here.

I agree with you mate. Ford should pay attention to build quality instead of boosting the power for new models. That was one of the biggest reason that I bought this. Don't get me wrong I loved my xr6 but I was sick of hearing rattles, hissing noises, interior squeaks.. etc.

did that too

Same deal with me (though, when I test drove an R32, they left me alone with it).

I guess I was lucky that my first car was a British Escort that had the stalk on the left. Only turned on the wipers that very first time. Funnily, it's been a little over a year since I got rid of the R32 and there are times I've had to pause then grab the correct stalk in the last two cars I've owned.

I do miss the three flash on nudging the indicator stalk, though.

The only thing I can say isn't to my liking is the dash. Our 2010 VW Caddy has exactly the same dash, I would have thought a more premiuim model may have had a different dash. Also how are you finding everything being backwards, i.e indicators on left, wiper on right, but you push them up to switch them on etc. I still get caught out on the Caddy.

I work for a VW dealer and I have to say that I'm very impressed with the product. I do however think that some of Fords european cars stack up very well against VW. Fiesta and polo are by far the two best small cars, with the mazda 2 coming in 3rd. Focus especially the XR5 is cheaper and performs just as well as a golf GTi. The only thing it's missing is the DSG gearbox.

Jetta/Passat are also brilliant cars, with both due for an upgrade within the next year. I do think that the mondeo has them covered for features, build quality and performance. When you look at the Passat R36, it's one brilliant bit of kit, but for 75k I would have a new supercharged GT-P.

When you consider that VW are one of the best in their class in the world in about 4 classes, and you also factor in that Ford have a comparable vehicle in all of those classes which is just as good in almost every way, it makes me wonder why Ford's sales are slow. There's very soon to be a 5th class too, with the arrival if the VW amarok. It will be sure to give the ranger a run for it's money, and hopefully take sales away from the over rated navara and Hilux.

To all the folks complaining about the indicator and wiper controls being back to front. Have any of you drive a Fiesta, Focus or Mondeo?

I am going to go with APR kit

http://www.goapr.com/products/turbo_trans20t_k04.html

For the indicators, all european cars have it on the left side
