Yeah I agree, its getting way too rediculous...

You should need a truck licence for those things, I mean can you imagine soccer mums driving round in these?

Like Young 'un said, you cant even reach the tray to put anything in it.

I would hate to see the petrol bill of one of these things too.

But then again, if a little ricer got in your way you could just run over it

I don't know what all the fuss is about, those are NOT trucks designed for Joe Average to buy to tow things. They're commerical trucks, they sell them along-side the big semi-trailers and such. They make dump truck versions of the F650 and F750 also.

The F650 is available with three different engines...

6.0litre PowerStroke Turbo Diesel OHV 32-valve V8 (That's right, 4v per cyl pushrod)

It's available in these states of tune:
200hp (149kW) and 520ftlbs (705Nm)
215hp (160kW) and 540ftlbs (732Nm)
230hp (172kW) and 540ftlbs (732Nm)
230hp (172kW) and 620ftlbs (840Nm)

The final and most powerful engine has more in-depth specification listed on the site, 230hp @ 2600rpm and 620ftlbs @ 1500rpm.

Next engine....

7.2litre Caterpillar TurboDiesel Inline-Six

Available as:
190hp (142kW) and 520ftlbs (705Nm)
210hp (157kW) and 520ftlbs (705Nm)
210hp (157kW) and 605ftlbs (820Nm)
230hp (172kW) and 540ftlbs (732Nm)
230hp (172kW) and 660ftlbs (894Nm)
250hp (187kW) and 660ftlbs (894Nm)
275hp (205kW) and 800ftlbs (1084Nm)
300hp (224kW) and 800ftlbs (1084Nm)
300hp (224kW) and 860ftlbs (1165Nm)

The more in-depth listing on their site is for the final variant, 300hp @ 2200rpm and 860ftlbs @ 1440rpm.

Final engine...

5.9litre Cummins TurboDiesel 24-valve OHV Inline-Six

Available in tunes:
185hp (138kW) and 420ftlbs (569Nm)
200hp (149kW) and 520ftlbs (705Nm)
215hp (160kW) and 520ftlbs (705Nm)
230hp (172kW) and 520ftlbs (705Nm)
245hp (183kW) and 660ftlbs (894Nm)
260hp (194kW) and 550ftlbs (745Nm)
260hp (194kW) and 660ftlbs (894Nm)
275hp (205kW) and 660ftlbs (894Nm)

The rpm info on Ford's site is again for the most powerful version, giving 275hp @ 2500rpm and 660ftlbs @ 1600rpm. The 275hp Cummins is only available with the "Straight-Frame" F650, while the others are both available with the F650 "Pro Loader" and "Straight-Frame" models.

The base F650 has a 35 gallon fuel tank (133 litres) while the largest tank option is two seperate 65 gallon (246 litre) tanks, for a total of 492 litres, or 130 gallons.

They run air suspension and four-channel ABS /air brakes.

The regular F650 comes with 19.5 x 6.75" 8-lug steel wheels with 225/70 R19.5 tyres and can be optioned with 19.5 x 7.5 wheels (8 or 10 lug) with 245/70 R19.5 tyres.

The front axle rating on every F650 is 8500lbs (3864kg) and can be optioned up to 10,000lbs (4545kg) on the F650 Straight-Frame. The regular F650 rear axle rating on leaf springs is 13,500lbs (6136kg) - can be optioned up to 20,000lbs (9091kg) on leaf-springs, and same for air-suspension.

That's about all the info I'm gonna regurgitate from Ford Commerical's website, the link is http://www.commtruck.ford.com/CTW/News/CatalogLR.pdf for the F650 & F750 specs.. and http://www.commtruck.ford.com/ctw/default.asp for the Ford Commerical main page.

Well, that was fun, time to find something else to do...
