A Telstar Ghia sedan is rare & collectable ???? Seriously..... what is the seller smoking. Yes, it might have low k's & be in above average condition - but that doesn't mean that anyone will want to pay that kind of $$$ for that particular car. What did they sell for new - about $13k wasn't it & about $15k for the TX5 Ghia (a far more "collectable" model in my opinion).

This guy is inspirational. He paid $13k for it back in 1985 and is going to make a $17k or about 130% profit (not accounting for inflation). I'm gonna buy a Holden Epica tomorrow (very rare), put it in storage and then sell it in 2029 as a collectable for $70k.

Collectable?? Hardly, yes it's old an in good condition but certainly not collectable.
I'm prepared to be corrected by the Telstar Club, if there is such a thing.

In the current Unique Cars there is an ad for a 1985 Sigma wagon that contains the following outrageous statement "Future classic, buy now while they are still cheap".
At least he only wants $2500.
Maybe it's time for a ridiculous car ads thread, similar to the eBay madness one.

the clock has been either
1: tampered with (most likely senario)
2: or been round the clock
when the clock is new all the digits be level
so the first two zeros should be level still
and the zero in front of the eighty should be roling down ready for its change from 0 to 1

An average Telstar may go for $1000. With 5000 ks, I'll be generous and say $5000 is a realistic asking price and ONLY for the novelty of the low ks. Collector's car? Unlikely. The only thing going for it is the low ks.
He said NO OFFERS. Hey don't worry, at an asking price of $30000, he won't get any.
So is this when we merge this thread with the when does plastic become classic?

No commodity or good has any value unless somebody is prepared to pay for it...
If they are, what they aare prepared to pay outlines its true value.

Best wishes to the seller.

The flat (single coat) white paint makes the car look old already. I guess Mazda weren't yet using clearcoat paint back then.
