I'm keen to take my XR8 for a run further than the local shops. Would you lot consider a run along the Putty, through Bulga/Broke and into Pokolbin?

sure, never been through putty. for some reason or another i couldnt make it to the last one on putty :(

and Yeah, wisemans ferry is only about 45mins from where i live(west pennant hills -depending on what the traffic is like) and its a rubbish road, recently a bseries member took his Ba up there and the front drivers side(i think) of his RJR 17" rims he had on litterally shattered and sent him into the guard rail and it was a write off

Why would double D's be a problem? If your not doing anything wrong then theres nothing to worry about
Everyone is supposed to be on good behaviour on a cruise right? :eclipsee_

yes and often means more traffic which makes it harder to keep everyone together.

I understand the reasoning, not being picky here but it really doesn't matter what day it's held on. From experience, on a normal point day and despite good intentions the group gets broken up when the pack splits between conservative drivers and not so conservative drivers (to be polite).

Being relatively new to this forum I'll slip back to the sidelines.
Just an observation and another point of view FWIW

No reason not to participate. Everyone has their own ideas and preferences and new members are just as valued as anyone else.

For me, Long weekends are the few weeks where I don't have rugby on the Saturday and I often have other things planned for me by the GF etc.

I prefer non long weekends as they don't screw up other plans, less traffic and less chance of being caught by coppers.

Any weekend is fine with me, makes no difference.
I'm happy to try and work in to whatever is decided.

The original point I was trying to make got lost. _2:
But that's beside the point, doesn't matter now.
Didn't mean to rock the boat.

Thanks Grum :voldar02:

On cruises especially with new members we often make a point to keep it civil and keep everyone together as that is the point of the cruise.
Those who enjoy spirited runs partake that on their own accord and they wont be organised on the forum as they wont represent AFF. That is of course IF these events occur.

I would prefer it not being on Double Ds simple because that means more police working on a long weekend, which means more angry police, which means less leniency which means defects.

It good that the newer members are being taken into consideration!

Has there been a decision on wether it's going to be a local meet, greet and eat, or a longer cruise?
I'm lookin forward to it either way, havn't found any good drives apart from syd to the gong and back.

But i'd just be happy to put names to faces!

I was forwarded a run sheet today, I am going for a cruise with the HSV club in coming weeks. Yep I am driving a HSV too, it's a mates.. VZ2 R8, It's cammed...

Meeting at Thornleigh and going up old pac into Peats Ridge, them up into Wollombi and up back roads into broke and then back down the Putty.

Would make a good gentlemens cruise if people are interested..

For some people its a big ego trip of my car is faster than yours.

For others its a good drive, meeting up with existing mates and meeting new members. Depending on the cruise there is usually a stop for lunch etc.

varies, some cruies you spend more time driving and having fun. ask anyone who went on the recent bathurst cruise.

usually good chatting and catching up with everyone, meet the new ones. go for a drive and meet up again, pubs, clubs, food, and driving all day. get out have some fun and meet some good people.
