Well beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but I can't agree with that.
That said, AU I feel had the ideas of good styling but it wasn't implemented correctly - partly due to the fact they wanted to make it "look" smaller. I might write up something one day pointing out where they could have fixed the styling. (BA did fix some of these of course) |

Well hey it's a Ford forum *shrugs*
Anyway back on topic; I'd be very surprised if there is a Commodore after the ZB (and facelift) Barina is getting canned, Spark already has been canned and is in run out, Cruze sedan, sorry Astra sedan I think is no longer made in RHD due to some problems with the GM factory in Korea. I don't think they'll bother tooling up the Malibu or Lacrosse for RHD. In future - At best we might get the Colorado and some other car. |

What car in the GM stable will suit, with Europe sold, GMH has to look to America, Camaro is nice but will it be a big number on going or just a spike. Ford Aus started the Falcon retrenchment program long before it's demise, Holden did not and is now paying the price.
This is not to say that Ford are out of the woods, small to medium cars sales are dismal. |

The important part for Holden is how it rekindles interest in its vehicles,
it's no longer up to just one vehicle to do that, all must play their part. Last edited by jpd80; 21-10-2018 at 07:13 AM. |

Enough of this AU love Rod ... You forgot the towing ability, the amount of
cars i've pulled out of rural victoria towing at the absolute limit is extrodinary! Not to mention it's GAS DEDICATED. Dad had a new VS wagon on petrol, couldn't tow a 700kg boat with two adults and kids, sump leak done under warranty at 30,000km, dry 02 sensor solders at 90,000km causing left bank to run rich. |

Just a thought, we remember how lots of people in the past pulled the holden badge's off & stuck chev ones on, do you think it would help if they pulled the holden badge off & stuck opel ( or Peugeot ones) on? sorry I couldn't hep myself, I had to throw that in.

Okay Bent 8 ..fair enough but it's a red rag to a bull to see them dissed . It's a weakness for me ..Sorry .
Back on topic ....Holden may well not survive because they're offering average stuff and pretty poor service by many accounts . The Commodore name retention is a fail as most thought it would be , the Colorado has engine issues from new , the Equinox , Trax etc has barely been marketed , Astra doing not much and as for the Captiva .. Ford might not be doing much better in the small/medium car market and customer service either but the Mustang and Ranger are class leaders presently . Small cars are the same for Holden as with Ford I think . Low volume . Holden as sad as it sounds (and it really is) might be an after thought in the not too distant future I guess unless they head down a different path to now. Don't know if some of the damage will be arrested with RHD converted HSV sourced Camaro's and Silverado's hitting specialist markets and one or two other newey's come along in the mainstream market . I think as we speak Ford and Toyota have handled the end of local manufacturing way better than GMH . Only time will tell if the famous Lion badge will sit on vehicles for a few decades yet . Hope it does somehow . Last edited by roddy1960; 21-10-2018 at 06:35 PM. |

I have sighted today a Queensland Police ZB.
QP have been buying Hyundai Sonata for general duties since the demise of VF/FGX. Hopefully more to come. This makes NZ Police SA Police and QPS giving GM some much required ZB sales. |

On Metro Holden’s Facebook page today
I wish them all the best but talk about jumping from the frypan into the fire It is with huge excitement that today we announce a new adventure for our business that has been serving Adelaide for over 35 years. From our time as one of Australia's top Holden Dealers, Metro Holden, to more recently Metro Auto Centre, we have enjoyed building a loyal customer base who have become the foundation of our business. Our passion for the auto industry and our commitment to providing the highest level of customer service has made us one of Adelaide’s most trusted vehicles sales and service centres. Upon losing our Holden franchise in December 2017, we became more driven than ever to find a new direction and a way to improve our offerings to continue serving the Adelaide community for all their vehicle sales and service needs. After searching tirelessly for a new journey to embark on with our customers and staff, we were informed last month that our tender for a new franchise was successful. As of November 1st, 2018 we will be re-branding as Adelaide’s newest Jeep®, Chrysler and Dodge dealership and trading as Adelaide City Chrysler Jeep® Dodge with a focus on re-launching the exciting range of Jeep® models in South Australia and providing Adelaide’s current Jeep, Chrysler and Dodge owners with a reliable and trusted service outlet - ready to tackle any service work required. Our business will continue to operate from 1 Port Road, Thebarton and although there will be some significant changes and renovations in the coming months, we will be open for business as Adelaide City Chrysler Jeep® Dodge from November 1st, showcasing our exciting new range of Jeep® & Chrysler products including: > Cherokee > Grand Cherokee > SRT Trackhawk > Compass > Wrangler > Renegade > 300C & 300 SRT We will continue to stock one of Adelaide's largest range of quality used cars and our all makes & models service centre will be capable of undertaking any of your servicing requirements. We look forward to embarking on this exciting new adventure with you all and we hope to see you in our new dealershi
