Anyone know if there is a way to see if your car has been ordered from Ford?

Have the limited funds extended to a lack of new colours being introduced also.

Ohhh I would have thought a couple of flashy paint colours would have been pretty good bang for ya buck. The VF has a pretty good spread.

Just got home from another day at the You Yangs in the Landau.
Those who have put their money down for the XR8 wont be disappointed. A proven 400+ fwkw car with RSpec suspension...for $58-$62k. I am speechless. PS: XR6T pales in comparison. |

Pales in what way? Sure the note is different but give the XR6T the R spec bits and it would be just as effective.
Only took the V8 12 years to regain the crown then. Romance aside the XR6T is also a fair slab cheaper. But both cars are just a tune away from being proper weapons.

At least 75-80rwkw difference between the two.
XR6T and G6ET make 240-260rwkw based on my observations over the last 5 years. XR8 will routinely make 315-340rwkw. Not slagging the Barra Turbo. Just my opinion after driving both back to back on the track. PS: I did own a G6ET from new - so very much love and respect the I6T. Sadly it has lost its crown in my opinion. |

Ive had a high powered RWD car for the last 8 years. Never had a traction problem in either of my Boss 290's, they were boat anchors!

Maybe mine is more modified (it has similar rwkw to Boss 315 GTs), has lower diff gears and is better maintained than your cars were?

Talk is cheap. A Boss 260 is no comparison to a 5.0 335.

And I never said my BA was a match for a 335, I just said it will break traction consistently if booted at 80km/h. Which is a fact, and which is apparently a stand-out feature of the new XR8. |

This guy gets it. I mean, nobody's dyno'ed it and people are just saying "It goes hard mate. Spins the wheels." And it seemed to impress people. Why don't we just be happy with it being a 335 (which we all know is an understatement) and see what happens when people actually take delivery? I'm sure it won't take long until someone puts one on a dyno and takes one down the 1/4 mile. And then it'll be no surprise that it'll probably eat all previous XR8s and probably all GTs, perhaps bar the GTF.
Edit: I was just being a smart*** previously saying that if spinning the wheels at 80km/h is good, then plenty of cheaper cars can do that. Some blokes reckon if the conditions are right they can do it in an 80's corolla. |

Although perhaps we can just use the GT R Spec and FG XR6T figures for that, I dont have those handy.

Spoke with the head of the GTF programme last night. Hell of a nice guy.
The biggest limiting factor for performance (ie quarter mile times) was our rear rubber - or lack of quality rubber versus the top grade Conti hoops HSV are running Don't expect a massive improvement in quarter mile times - or a massive difference between the SC V8 and I6T EDIT: GTF and FGX XR8 share the same motor and driveline |

But R spec tune yeah?
Between the GTF and the R spec the difference is all in 0101010101010 I thought.
