It will be interesting how China & India go in the next 10-15 years with population and demographic changes, their consumption rates could double, even though smaller more fuel efficient engines are being used in cars, roads, plastics and everything else that relies on oil such as the construction of the cars will also increase, this could change things a lot.

For those in A.C.T check out ACT fuel watch on Facebook.

16,000 supporters now.

Since they started 2 weeks ago our average fuel price has dropped 22.3 cents per litre.

Basically trying to get everyone to fill up at costco so it forces the others to drop their price, it is working.

Woolworths are currently under investigation as their Majura station matches Costco but the other 3 Stations in Canberra don't. Also for rasing there price 24 cents the minute Costco closes.

We are finally winning the war on petrol prices in Canberra thanks to Costco, it was 97.7 today.

It's funny the BP i fill up at for 98 in the falcon (tuned) is still 156.9 for 98, it's only 4km from Costco which has it for $1.21. I have saved $164 in the last 3 weeks by filling my 4x4 up at Costco

I don't want to state the obvious here but Costco would not be selling at a loss. This seems to be the best thing to have happened to the big two and I hope the scenario is repeated to more towns/

I still can't believe some places around Australia are charging more than $1.20 per litre. I saw fuel everywhere here for $1.04 per litre.

$1.40 for premium makes you happy? What were you paying before this?

And the latest barrel prices are still dropping.

Some are predicting $20 per barrel before all these oil price wars are over.

Bring it on I say!

Paid $1.14 for diesel today and commented to 'ol mate in the servo how it was $30.00 less to fill the work truck up than it was 6 months ago. Old mate tells me we are still getting ripped off blind and it should be another 15 to 18 cents cheaper but because the fuel prices have come down, people are not jumping up and down as much, so the fuel companies are only drip feeding us the savings. Suprise surprise..........

Over here in the U.S. we've paid as little as $1.79 U.S. per gallon for regular unleaded

Really struggled to put $40 worth in our people mover from empty
